LOVE GROW SERVE SHARE
Dear Church Family...
February is a good month for eating chili/soup and staying indoors to watch a movie. We’re going to do both this month at Shiloh Terrace!
The Chili/Soup Cook-off on February 11th at 4:00 p.m. is a great opportunity to showcase your special talents and impress the judges (one of whom happens to be me!). We’ll supply the drinks and cornbread. Just sign-up at the
Welcome Center to let us know that you are bringing either soup or chili. There will be prizes for each. You do not have to bring food to come and enjoy. We will also celebrate the ordination of David Helms, III to the Gospel Ministry on Sunday, February 11, at 3:00 p.m. prior to the Chili Cook-off.
The movie we will watch on February 25th at 3:00 p.m. is “The Shack.” This is a fictional story about how God helped a man who experienced a terrible tragedy work through his anger and grief. It is thought-provoking, a “tear-jerker,” and not meant to be endorsed theologically since it is a work of fiction. It is simply an entertaining story that I hope generates a healthy conversation about overcoming life’s tragedies with the help of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I will host a round-table discussion of the film the following Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.
Don’t stay hunkered down at home in the cold by yourself! Get out and join your church family. It may be cold outside, but it’s always warm in the hearts of God’s people at Shiloh Terrace!
