Terasaki developed its original breaker for the first time in Japan in 1947.

Since then, the company has been offering, as a specialized breaker

manufacturer, the most advanced breakers not only to the Japanese market, but

also to the world markets.

The TemBreak series of Moulded case circuit breakers, which is evaluated as

highly reliable by our customers, has been improved from time to time for better

performance through Terasaki's advanced technologies.

In 2000, the TemPower 2 series was released to replace the Tempower series of

air circuit breakers, which had received high reputations for many years. This

new series consists of small, high-performance air circuit breakers featuring

advanced information and communication capabilities.

Terasaki is ready to meet the customers' requirements in the 21st century through

its diversified model lineup and its broad range of enhanced products.

In September 1993, Terasaki ob-tained certification for the world quali-ty assurance standard ISO9002. In 1994, we obtained certification forthe even more rigorous ISO9001which covers additional items such as“Management Responsibil i t ies”,“Employee Training”, “Design andDevelopment”, and “Service”. In the future, we will respond to theeven higher level of global needs with“international reliability”.

In April 2000, Terasaki was certifiedas conforming to ISO 14001, an inter-national environment-related stan-dard. The company gives priority toits commitment to the curtailment orabolishment of using environmentallyharmful substances, energy saving inthe production activities, reduction ofwastes, and effective utilization of re-sources.

Just plug the TemPlug into the main bus.That completes the connection!We offer solutions to downsizing and standardizing them,shortening the manufacturing periods, and reducing the costs.

°Downsizing of switchboardsThe TemPlug is inserted directly into themain bus, requiring no space for branchedbus bars. This allows for decreasing thewidth of a switchboard.

°Standardization of switchboardsThe size of the main bus is determined bythe power capacity. Therefore, theswitchboards of the same capacity can bestandardized.

°Shortening of manufacturingperiods

The time-consuming jobs for making andmounting branched bus bars are no longerrequired.The working time can be greatly saved,resulting in shorter lead-time of aswitchboard.

°Flexibility in changingspecification

If there is any change in the frame size orrated current of a breaker, you can complywith that change by merely changing theTemPlug.

°Standardization of order ofphases

The order of load-side phases can bestandardized into R, S, and T from the topregardless of the mounting orientation ofthe breaker.

°Improvement of safety byseparating sections

The use of the TemPlug allows you toseparate the bus and breaker sections tomanufacture a safer switchboard.

This is a standard breaker excluding thermaloverload trip. It has an instantaneous trippingcharacteristic only. This is used where short-circuit protection is exclusively needed.

High-lNST Trip Breaker

This is a standard molded case circuit breaker(electronic type) with a high instantaneous trip-ping value, in one-point fixed. This is recom-mended for zone selective interruption or theprimary side of transformer application.

Breakers for Coordination

TERASAKI Standard Breakers are manufac-tured based on the “standard operating condi-tions”If an application in other places than those of“standard operating conditions”, specify as “Spe-cial Environment Breakers” when ordering yourbreakers.

Special Environment Breakers

Standard Operating Conditions

• Operating ambient temperature: –5°C to 40°CIf used at a higher temperature than 40°C, the operating currenthas to be reduced;50°C: Approx. 90%60°C: Approx. 70%

• Relative humidity: Below 85%• Altitude: Below 2000m• Atmosphere: Contents of dust, smoke, corrosive gases, flammable gases, moisture and salt should

be moderately low.

Low-temperature Circuit Breaker

This is a breaker designed for use in low tem-perature environment. Storage and operatingconditions are –40°C and –20°C respectively.Since the operating characteristics of the low-temperature breaker are adjusted at 40°C(45°C), the characteristics vary at a lower tem-perature.Conditions: This type of breaker should not be

used where thermal changes arerapid and dew-formation and freez-ing exist.

Anti-fungus Circuit Breaker (Tropical-proof)

Dielectric strength and other electrical propertiesmay deteriorate under unusual high temperatureand high-humidity conditions. This type ofbreaker is specially prepared with specialsurface treatment, special materials and tropical-proof processing.Operating conditions are:

Temperature: Below 60°CHumidity: Below 95%

Conditions: This type of breaker should be usedin a constant humidity environmentwithout rapid thermal changes anddew formation.

Highly Anti corrosive Circuit Breaker

In highly corrosive or saline atmosphere,breakers are used in sealed corrosion-proofboxes or enclosures.However, in a place where the influence ofcorrosive gases is relatively low a simplermethod is applicable:This is the Highly Anti-corrosive Breaker withspecial surface treatment of high corrosion-proofness.This eliminates needs for such a box orenclosure.

Low-INST Trip Breaker

Low Instantaneous Trip Breakers is also avail-able on request. Ask TERASAKI or its agent fordetails.
