Stabilität und Dämpfung sind entscheidende kriterien für einen guten Sportschuh. Je nach Anwendungsbereich steht eine der beiden eigenschaften im Vordergrund. in den meisten Fällen jedoch geht die Fokussierung des einen Merkmals zu lasten des anderen. So wird zum Beispiel ein stabiler Wanderschuh nie so gut gedämpft sein können wie ein laufschuh. Bei der loWA „STg“ Technologie werden die stabi-lisierenden und die dämpfenden Sohlenbereiche getrennt. Dies macht eine isolierte Abstimmung der Sohlenelemente möglich. Stabilität und Dämpfung können auf diese Weise perfekt in einklang gebracht werden:

Stability and cushioning are deciding factors when it comes to quality sports footwear. Depending on use, one or the other is more key. in most cases however, excellence in cushioning is to the detriment of stability and vice versa. A stable hiking boot for example, will never be as cushioned as a running shoe. With loWA’s “STg” Technology, the stabilising and cushioning elements are separated, thereby making it possible to isolate each sole element. in this way, both stability and cushioning can be united in perfect harmony:

Die natürliche biomechanische Funktionsweise des Fußes beschreibt eine S-förmige Abrolllinie. Der initiale Bodenkontakt findet auf leicht supinierter Ferse statt. Während der ganze Fuß Bodenkontakt hat, verlagert sich die hauptbelastung zunehmend auf den großzehen- ballen, ehe über den großen Zehen ein neuer Schritt eingeleitet wird. Je nach geschwindigkeit der Fortbewegung (gehen – laufen – Sprinten) ist dieser S-förmige Bewegungsablauf unterschiedlich ausgeprägt. Die loWA „Spine“ Sohlenkonstruktion harmonisiert das natürliche S-förmige Abrollverhalten des menschlichen Fußes und beugt somit Überlastungs beschwerden und Verletzungen in Sprung-, knie-, und hüftgelenk vor.

The natural biomechanics of the foot dictate an “S“ shaped roll-off pattern. The initial ground contact is on a mildly supinated heel. While the foot is in full contact with the ground, the majority of the weight or peak resistance area, is spread towards the edge of the balls of your feet and then fully on the big toe before leading into another step. The “S“ shaped motion depends on the speed with which one moves forward - walk, run, sprint etc. loWA’s “Spine“ sole unit mimics the foot’s natural “S“ shaped roll-off motion thereby preventing injuries to the ankle, knee and hips from over- loading.

The harder EVA/PU midsole with its “MonoWRAP®“ construction holds the foot perfectly and is stable.

The softer EVA/PU midsole over the rubber outsole provides perfect cushioning and grip: ¬ better grip due to a softer sole moulding itself better to terrain fluctuations ¬ reduction in force that the heel placement exerts on the pronation.

This so-called pronation strain angle is more often than not the cause of ankle, knee or hip overload injuries.
