・ Acting Councii DirectorWood stated staff met with Legai representatives to create a
「equest for bids (RFB). The model demonstrated by No巾hwest Community Co=ege
(NWCC) was used as reference for requi「ements in the bid. it has been subm皿ed for
approval to send out. Once a p「ovide「 is seiected the system wi‖ be beta-teSted to
ensure workab冊y, SeCurity, and confidentiality.
・ Chair Adams asked about testing costs, Acting Counc= Di「ector Wood stated the RFB
WOuld incIude language for costs not to exceed. The RFB is asking fo「a 3 yea「

・ DeJoode stated 「etests a「e on-gOing, A letter was sent out to Chiefs and T「aining
O冊ce「s 「eminding them ofthe Decembe「 31 , 2017 deadline to compIete retesting・
丁he「e have been about 250 test sites since June 16. 30-40 tests sites geographica=y
across the state are scheduIed to the end ofthe year. Seai numbers from invaIid
Ce巾ficates have been 「eported to ProBoard to be cance=ed out. Notification w川aIso

・ ChairAdams asked ifany additionai sco「e analysis has been done since the last
FSERC meeting when Iow pass rates we「e repo巾ed, DeJoode stated no additional
anaiysis has been conducted and pointed out the limited nature of the previous

・ IFSAC reaccreditation work is continuing, Subject matter experts f「om nume「ous
O「ganizations across the state were brought in to validate test questions, A旧eveIs
have been compIeted and edita are now being done in the computer test banks. Sk帥s
and procedures must aIso be reviewed, Documents have been provided to the

・ Acting Bu「eau ChiefWood stated the Accreditation Manager position was posted and
the「e we「e 43 applicants f「om ac「oss the country. Crite「ia fo「 selection of fina!ist was
fire expe「ience, education, m冊a「y service, and human 「esources or certification
experience, 14 appIicants moved on afte「 the initiaI sco「ing per the stated c「iteria. 6 of
the 14 indicated the sta巾ng saIary of approximateIy $57,500 was not acceptable. The
remaining 8 applicants were interviewed. The individuaI seIected is f「om Iowa, He
accepted the position but no public amouncement w冊be made unt= background

a「e awa「e, the FS丁B sent ou口ette「s to the affected桁e fighters advising them that upon review, the
actual scores oftheir p「eviously compIeted ce両日cation examinations did not meet the minimum
PaSSing score of70% and thattheywould be required to retake the examinationsand pass ifthey

InitialIy, the「e was 6 month windowforthis retesting period which was to end in 」une 2017. An
extension to this deadIine was made to run through the entire caIendaryearof2017. Note: There wi=
