LOYOLA EMANCIPATORY ACTION FOR DALIT

STUDENTS (LEADS)

Loyola College, Chennai- 600 034

The LEADS has organized a UGC-CPE sponsored workshop on “Skilling the

Students for Jobs” for two different batches on different dates by the experts in the

field of training.

About the resource persons

Mr. A. Irudhayam – Founder-director, Transeed Virukshahas

a great visionary for youths in India. He possessed varied

experience in the field of teaching, training and education

Administration. He has got 17 years of experience in Institute

of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and also heading

the Southern Region as Joint Secretary up to August 2007.

Mr. G. Ramasubramanian, is a trainer by choice and trains

with passion. With a decade of Corporation training

experience he is one of the most sought after trainer in

Chennai, He is a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP, from

NFNLP, Florida, USA. He trained so many people from top

companies include clients like Britannia, TVS group of

Companies, L & T Info Tech, Toshiba, Titan, RBI, Bajaj

Alliance, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited and others.

First day

Keeping in mind the need for employment and employability related training

programmes, LEADS has conducted the first day workshop for I, II UG and I PG on

26th Jan., 2013 in Yeddanapalli Hall and MCA Smart room. The participants were

grouped into two. The programme began with a prayer song followed by welcome

address by Fr. M.S. Jacob, S.J, The Director, LEADS. In his address, Fr. M.S. Jacob, SJ

has given a brief introduction about the resource persons and welcomed them. He

also emphasized on the programmes designed by LEADS purposefully for the

welfare of Dalit and poor students.

At the end of the workshop all the participants were able to gain a wider perspective

of job related skills and were provided with a certificate of participation. More than

150 students benefited from this training programme.

Second Day

The second day of workshop for III UG, II PG and other students

was held on 24th Feb., 2013 in Lawarence Sundaram Auditorium.

The workshop began with a prayer song by Ms. Arul Mozhi and

Mr. Kiran. Rev. Fr. M. S. Jacob, SJ welcomed the resource persons

and all the participants. He encouraged all the participants to

utilise the workshop to the fullest.

The workshop had two sessions, first session was handled by Mr. G.

Ramasubramanian and followed by Mr. A. Irudhayam in the afternoon. During the

Valedictory Function, Mr. Amulraj has proposed the vote of thanks. Later the

students were given with certificates of particiapation.
