LP SolidStart LVL LP SolidStart Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) is manufactured from ultrasonically graded veneers and bonded with exterior grade adhesive. Our LVL products deliver a greater load-carrying capacity than traditional softwood timber, providing consistent dimensions and enhanced durability. LP SolidStart LVL comes standard with a water-resistant coating on all six faces providing additional weather protection, and also minimizes problems that naturally occur as traditional timber dries, such as twisting, splitting, checking, bowing and warping. LP SolidStart LVL-Q Lite is an ideal, less expensive alternate to LVL-Q for rim board and wall plate applications. Properties of LP® SOLIDSTART® LVL in accordance with EN 14374

LP® SolidStart® LVL

Tech NoteLP® SolidStart® LVL-Q Lite, S Lite, S, and S Plus grades

Edgewise Flatwise

NOTES:

1The use of LP® SolidStart LVL shall be limited in conditions of Service Class 1 and 2 per EN 1995-1-1.

2Characteristic bending strength is for 300mm reference depth. For depths h other than 300mm, the characteristic bending strength shall be multiplied by correction factor kh:

3Characteristic bending strengths of 1.3 x-lam LVL (LVL-Q Lite) can be increased for thickness ≥32mm edgewise to 25.4 N/mm2 and flatwise to 25.3 N/mm2.

4Characteristic tension parallel to the grain is for 3000 reference length. For lengths l other than 3000mm, the characteristic tension shall be multiplied by correction factor kl:

5The indicated MOE values are apparent MOE including the effect of shear deformation which can therefore be neglected in design of deflection.

6The kmod, and kdef modification factors for DOL and moisture defined in EN 1995-1-1 for LVL are applicable.

7Unless another YM partial factor is defined in the relevant National Annex to EN 1995-1-1, YM = 1.2 can be used.

8For other design considerations, the factors or values defined in EN 1995-1-1 for LVL are applicable.
