All survey activities shall be supervised by Nespak Surveyors at no extra cost to the Contractor. The item one is optional and it may be carried out by Nespak surveyors depending upon the availability of staff. SETTING OUT OF CENTER LINE / ROW LIMITS AND INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE ROW PEGS ON LAHORE RING ROAD PROJECT

ALONG REVISED ALIGNMENT AND SOUTHERN LOOP (~ 60 KM)

1.0 SPECIFICATIONS

1.1 General

The setting out of center line and subsequently ROW limits shall be the basic

requirement for installation of concrete ROW pegs at 25m intervals and main

points (i.e. start and end points) of all curves. Nespak desires to hire the services

of reputed and experienced registered private parties (Contractors / Survey

Company (ies). The work shall be carried out using modern instruments operated

by experienced surveyors and assisted by other technical staff to fix the quality

concrete Pegs.

The setting out of center line is optional and it may be carried by Nespak surveyors.

All field works shall be carried out under the supervision of Nespak surveyor(s) at

no extra cost to the Contractor.

1.2 Location of Project

The project alignment follows an entirely new route in the suburb of Lahore

metropolis. The location map is attached for guidance of the bidders to acquaint

themselves with the project area and check the accessibility of site.

1.3 Scope of Works

The required Scope of Works shall mainly comprise the following items:-

♦ Setting out of centre line & ROW limits / boundaries at 25 m intervals

including main points of curve i.e. PC and PT for a length of approx. 60 km.

♦ Fixing of ROW concrete pegs of the required concrete ~5,000 Nos. strength of 2400 psi

Note: - The project shall be executed in stages according to finalized design of

different packages comprising each about 10 to 20 km each. If there is some

delay in finalization of design of any package, no extra cost towards mobilization

/ demobilized (if any) shall be entertained for such temporary stoppage of work.

1.4 Methodology of Work

The procedure to be adopted by the Contractor / Surveying Company for Scope of Works shall require the following tasks:

1.4.1 Setting out of Centerline and Fixing of Concrete Pegs

The setting out of centerline and ROW limits shall be carried out by using modern equipment in accordance with setting out data of horizontal alignment of the project utilizing horizontal controls. The Contractor / Survey Company will set out center line and fix ROW limits with wooden pegs at site or alternatively location of pegs may be provided by Nespak Surveyor. The Contractor shall replace the wooden pegs with precast concrete Pegs as per given Sketch / Plate No.1. The area around concrete peg shall be filled back with common material and compacted well to the satisfaction of the supervisor.

1.4.2 Handing over of Concrete Pegs

The completed work of concrete pegs shall be handed over to PMU’s Representative on weekly basis or as agreed at site.

The concrete pegs with defects in fabrication or installation shall be removed and

replaced with accepted one at no extra cost to NESPAK.

1.4.3 Remedy of Defective Work and Maintenance of Concrete Pegs

The Contractor shall be responsible for all defective work and to replace Peg(s) if required. The Contractor shall maintain his work for a period of one month from the last date of handed over all the pegs are to PMU’s Representative. At the time of final handing over, any concrete peg if found missing shall again be installed by the Contractor at his own cost.

1.5 Payment of Advance No advance payment shall be made.

1.6 Mode of Payment

The following payments will be made for ROW concrete pegs installed and accepted by the Employer’s Representative:-

- On completion of work of any Package (may be comprised 10 to 20 km each) i.e. No of concrete pegs fixed at site and accepted / approved by the Consultant / Client in accordance with agreed rate. 90% - On issuance of completion Certificate 10% 1.7 Performance Bond

The successful bidder shall have to submit performance bond from any scheduled bank of Pakistan equivalent to 10% of the contract value.

1.8 Certificate of Site Visit

A statement in writing shall be submitted by the bidder certifying that he has visited the site and familiarized himself with all conditions which may affect his quotation / bid and that he has no query whatsoever such as access to site, etc.

1.9 Document to be Submitted with the Bid

2. Details of available technical / non-technical staff

3. List of similar Jobs completed and in-hands

4. Rate analysis along with break up calculations
