History of the Luau•Luaus are traditional Hawaiian celebrations
▫Originally called ‘aha ‘aina, these celebrations became known as luaus about 150 years ago
•The term luau originates from the Hawaiian and other Polynesian languages, and is the name for the taro leaf▫Taro leaves are combined with others foods,
such as chicken or fish, and then baked in coconut milk
