Lubbock ISD Mission and Beliefs

Our mission is to prepare students for life by nurturing, developing, and inspiring every child, every day.The Board of Lubbock ISD is committed to achieving a vision of excellence for our District, based on these beliefs:

ӹ Diversity is strength in our community and is a valued asset. ӹ Each student deserves equal and equitable access to a quality education. ӹ Safe and orderly community and school environments are essential to student health, wellness, and

academic success. ӹ Adequate and equitable resources, a strong infrastructure that is both effective and efficient, and a system

of accountability are essential to ensuring a high-performing educational system. ӹ School curricula and instructional programming must be rigorous, relevant, and engaging so that students

are prepared for life, college, and/or careers. ӹ The ultimate measure of what is taught is what is learned. Teachers are our most valuable resource,

and the focus of all our efforts is to support teaching and learning. ӹ The development of leadership and staff throughout the organization is critical to our success. ӹ Collaborative partnerships with parents and the community are essential to creating a strong

Introduction to Lubbock ISD’s Strategic Planning Process

The Lubbock ISD Strategic Plan is the result of a collaborative and comprehensive process conducted in partnership with stakeholders. This plan details the activities and processes departments and campuses will use to systematically coordinate and align resources and actions with the mission, vision and goals throughout the organization. The LISD strategic plan will be used for the next three years to set district priorities, focus resources, strengthen and improve operations, ensure synergy of work toward common goals, define intended outcomes and results.In order to ensure continuous improvement, alignment of district systems, centered on student learning and growth, LISD will focus on following areas:
