Aboutlubs societylubss skills challenge series has been created to

aid the development of useful skills for the needs of the industry

The society will be working alongside the Business School as well as partners to ensure a successful and enjoyable series of events.

Our partners will be advertised on our website (www.lubssociety.co.uk), Facebook, posters and in the undergraduate common room in Leeds

University Business School.

The society currently has around 400 members and recruits upwards of 100 new members each

year.

SKILLS CHALLENGE SERIES

The Trade Challenge is aimed at students who wish to work in investment banking/asset management. The society will use www.virtualtrader.co.uk for the Trade

Challenge, which will provide stock market simulation in which to compete.

Participants have to register with the society in order to obtain permission to enter the trading league and to

identify their performance.

The society will give prizes to top three entrants of the league.

At the beginning of the semester, registered teams willchoose from products/ideas presented by the company.

Each team will pick an idea/product. Each team will create a marketing strategy for their idea/product then

present it to the panel of judges.

Five teams will be chosen to perform their marketingcampaign around the campus. The winner of the competition will be determined by product sales.

The society will randomly assign participants into two teams.

The society is planning to have 3 sessions in total with

each session lasting two weeks and comprising of various tasks.
