RE: CITY CAPITAL PURCHASE
Water Distribution System
2JJ Water Meters (30)
There are currently 88 water meters in the Nevada water distribution system that are 2'! size.
86% of those meters are older than 5 years with several dating back to the year 1988.
According to AWWA standards! DNR recommendations! and meter manufacturers!
recommendations! large meters should be changed out at 4-5 year intervals. With current
water loss estimates avera&ing approximately 30%! older meters in the system need to be
changed out and replaced tith new ones that will register water use accurately. Thirty Y water meters will be the beginning of a much larger scale meter change out program. 2!!
meters were targeted in thk large meter group (size >1 11 ) for feasibility and the impact they
have on the overall usage from the system. There are more 2 11 meters in the system than any
other size with the exception of residential (size Sit). There is only one bid due to internal
communication issues with one vendor and the other vendor contact was out due to surgery
and nobody covered in his absence. Neptune Technology Group! Inc. quoted meters per an
Alliance companywide agreement! locking in meter pricing for a certain time frame.
Quotations as follows:
Neptune Technology Group! Inc. $11,311.26\k\~~ HD Supply Waterworks l\Jo Bid ~'J" ~ Springfield Winwater No Bid v
At this time, I am requesting approval to purchase thirty Y water meters from the low bidder!
Neptune Technology Group! Inc. for the amount of $11,311.26. This will be paid for with City
funds from budget line item 500-5-4401-427.
If you have any questions! please contact me.
