Repent or Perish

13 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the

Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesusanswered,“Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than allthe other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 tell you, no! "utunless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 #r those ei$hteen who diedwhen the tower in %iloam fell on them&do you think they were more$uilty than all the others li'in$ in Jerusalem? 5 tell you, no! "ut unlessyou repent, you too will all perish.( 6 )hen he told this parable* “+ man had a fi$ tree $rowin$ in his 'ineyard,

and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. 7 %o he said to theman who took care of the 'ineyard, -or three years now 'e beencomin$ to look for fruit on this fi$ tree and ha'ent found any. /ut itdown! 0hy should it use up the soil? 8 “%ir, the man replied, lea'e it alone for one more year, and ll di$around it and fertili1e it. 9 f it bears fruit next year, fine! f not, then cut itdown.(

9a 2ere Jesus is 3ust fri$htenin$ people and scarin$ them by sayin$ thatthey are all doomed unless they repent and belie'e only in him. )he

parable that he $i'es is supposed to say why they are all doomed but itdoes not! 9b -or all trees that bear fruit or fi$s, and that are not dyin$ ofnatural curses or lack of water, will produce fruits or fi$s e'entually, you 3ust need to $i'e it more time. Jesuss answer also says that the treesmust be cut down indicatin$ that this is what God must do which is to 4illpeople! "ut if a fi$ tree does not produce many fi$s for a few years mostpeople would not think to cut it down only to plant another fi$ tree, so belie'e he is 3ust wron$ in many ways.

10 #n a %abbath Jesus was teachin$ in one of the syna$o$ues, 11 and awoman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for ei$hteen years.%he was bent o'er and could not strai$hten up at all. 12 0hen Jesus sawher, he called her forward and said to her, “0oman, you are set free fromyour infirmity.( 13 )hen he put his hands on her, and immediately shestrai$htened up and praised God.14 ndi$nant because Jesus had healed on the %abbath, the syna$o$ueleader said to the people, “)here are six days for work. %o come and behealed on those days, not on the %abbath.(



15 )he 5ord answered him, “6ou hypocrites! Doesnt each of you on the%abbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to $i'e itwater? 16 )hen should not this woman, a dau$hter of +braham, whom%atan has kept bound for ei$hteen lon$ years, be set free on the %abbathday from what bound her?( 17 0hen he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the peoplewere deli$hted with all the wonderful thin$s he was doin$.



17a )his story is not a true story and %atan does not bind up people bymakin$ them crippled but satan has bound me up for many years somaybe the hidden truth in this story is that will be set free from thisisolation on a saturday7 17b )hat is also one thin$s that 8ichael sin$s in

one of his son$s, 9uote “ took my baby on a %aturday ban$!( "ut thethriller son$ su$$ested somethin$ mi$ht happen on a wednesday!

18 )hen Jesus asked, “0hat is the kin$dom of God like? 0hat shall compare it to? 19 t is like a mustard seed, which a man took and plantedin his $arden. t $rew and became a tree, and the birds perched in itsbranches.(

19a )his ideolo$y says how the kin$dom of God will start off 'ery small andwill $et bi$$er o'er a lon$ period of time!

20 +$ain he asked, “0hat shall compare the kin$dom of God to? 21 t islike yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flouruntil it worked all throu$h the dou$h.(

21a +$ain this ideolo$y states how it starts of in a small area and then$rows which dispro'es all the rapture theories as that phery is 3ust whatpeople want to belie'e they lea'e :arth and $o to a whole new place but

the facts that both these ideas start off small and $et bi$$er only pro'esthe rapture theory wron$!

22 )hen Jesus went throu$h the towns and 'illa$es, teachin$ as he madehis way to Jerusalem. 23 %omeone asked him, “5ord, are only a few people$oin$ to be sa'ed?( 2e said to them, 24 “8ake e'ery effort to enter throu$h the narrow

door,because many, tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25

#nce the owner of the house $ets up and closes the door, you will standoutside knockin$ and pleadin$, %ir, open the door for us. “"ut he will answer, dont know you or where you come from. 26 “)hen you will say, 0e ate and drank with you, and you tau$ht in ourstreets. 27 “"ut he will reply, dont know you or where you come from. +wayfrom me, all you e'ildoers! 28 “)here will be weepin$ there, and $nashin$ of teeth, when you see+braham, saac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kin$dom of God,

but you yoursel'es thrown out. 29 People will come from east and west



and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kin$domof God.

29a 2ere Jesus is promisin$ death and separation. 2e is insultin$ manypeople by callin$ them all e'il without acknowled$in$ any of his ob'ious

sins for preachin$ such terrible thin$s a$ainst other people7 29b 2e clearlyhas a lot of hatred for others but he seems to ha'e no understandin$ ofhis own hatred. 2ow can he expect people to be nice to him when half ofhis messa$e is all about how these other people who ;uestion him or alle'il and will not be welcome into hea'en! 29c f a man came up to me withthis messa$e, “belie'e in my God or $o to hell, you e'ildoer( would firstfeel sorry for him because of his mental condition, but if he continued toinsult me or make out that he was far more superior to me, to wouldstart to hate him. 29d mi$ht not be 'ery polite to him for he would ha'enot shown any respect to me and my beliefs, so why should show him

respect!

30 ndeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who willbe last.(

30a )his line really means whoe'er thinks they will be the first to enter thiskin$dom will actually be the last as those who belie'e they will be first,there arro$ance has blinded them to the truth which is that the kin$domof God is not a real kin$dom is mostly not referrin$ to a literary kin$dom.

30b t is a kin$dom that /hrist will li'e in and o'er time people will $etnicers as their le'el of understandin$ increases, where people are nicerand friendlier than that of the people in the past but all these ;ualitiescome from within. 30c )his kin$dom can only be reached only if you workto$ether stop readin$ the old "ible and coppin$ the ways of the people inthe past for those people were not Gods saints nor were they e'en 'erynice people! 30d )he "ible and people of the past encoura$e di'ision andwar, and tell people that belie'e in a certain thin$ are better than othersthat do not belie'e in that thin$. )his is why the people who think thatthey will be first will actually be last. 30e -or intelli$ence, e;uality andunderstandin$ is that ;uickest way to $et there and people who belie'etheir beliefs or reli$ion makes them better, they do not ha'e that le'el ofunderstandin$ towards other people<s point of 'iew! 30f )hey need to seethin$s for many points of 'iew not 3ust one!

30g -or example* s the Glass half empty or half full. #r s the persecutedsrael millions of people bein$ tortured by an :'il God or is she the oneand only sacrifice of God<s!

31 +t that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “5ea'e thisplace and $o somewhere else. 2erod wants to kill you.(



32 2e replied, “Go tell that fox, will keep on dri'in$ out demons andhealin$ people today and tomorrow, and on the third day will reach my$oal. 33 n any case, must press on today and tomorrow and the nextday& for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent

to you, how often ha'e lon$ed to $ather your children to$ether, as a hen$athers her chicks under her win$s, and you were not willin$. 35 5ook,your house is left to you desolate. tell you, you will not see me a$ainuntil you say, "lessed is he who comes in the name of the 5ord.(

31 +t that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “5ea'e thisplace and $o somewhere else. +nna wants to kill you.( 32 2e replied, “Go tell that fox, will keep on dri'in$ out demons andhealin$ people today and tomorrow, and on the third day will reach my$oal. 32a %he replied “how can you dri'e out demons when they not exist

for people are the ones who commit crimes but blamin$ it on somethin$that does not exist will only pre'ent them from repentin$ as they will onlyblame their faults on somethin$ or someone else and they will be lesslikely to chan$e their own ways. 32b People are these demons of which youspeak of but dri'in$ them out will only make their sufferin$ worse.

33 am the /hrist that must press on today and tomorrow and the nextday& for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem new Jerusalem tohere! 33a -or all profits can die outside that city called Jerusalem "ut thereal Jerusalem is actually the 8other and no person can die for she willbrin$ you back throu$h reincarnation.34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, =who is myself in flesh> your people kill theprophets and stone those sent to help you, how often ha'e lon$ed to$ather your children to$ether, as a hen $athers her chicks under herwin$s, and yet you children are not willin$. 35 5ook, your house is left toyou desolate. tell you, children, you will not see me a$ain until you say, 0hos +nna! "lessed is she who comes in the name of the 5ord.(

Jesus t Phrisee’s House

14 #ne %abbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent

Pharisee, he was bein$ carefully watched. 2 )here in front of him was aman sufferin$ from abnormal swellin$ of his body. 3 Jesus asked thePharisees and experts in the law, “s it lawful to heal on the %abbath ornot?( 4 "ut they remained silent. %o takin$ hold of the man, he healedhim and sent him on his way.5 )hen he asked them, “f one of you has a child or an ox that falls into awell on the %abbath day, will you not immediately pull it out?( 6 +nd theyhad nothin$ to say.



6a 2ere is more %abbath day reference which makes me a$ain thin$ thatsomethin$ important will happen on a saturday but since am in :n$landit is the %unday that is the day that is typically known for rest and church$oin$.

7 0hen he noticed how the $uests picked the places of honor at the table,he told them this parable* 8 “0hen someone in'ites you to a weddin$feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distin$uishedthan you may ha'e been in'ited. 9 f so, the host who in'ited both of youwill come and say to you, Gi'e this person your seat. )hen, humiliated,you will ha'e to take the least important place. 10 "ut when you arein'ited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will sayto you, -riend, mo'e up to a better place. )hen you will be honored inthe presence of all the other $uests. 11 -or all those who exalt themsel'eswill be humbled, and those who humble themsel'es will be exalted.(

11a )his is somethin$ that would do but rarely find people tellin$ me tocome forwards7 t happens a lot if its is for a picture but that<s mostly 3ust because of my hei$ht and if am at the back no one could see me!

12 )hen Jesus said to his host, “0hen you $i'e a lunch or dinner, do notin'ite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relati'es, or your richnei$hbors if you do, they may in'ite you back and so you will be repaid.13 "ut when you $i'e a ban;uet, in'ite the poor, the crippled, the lame,the blind,14 and you will be blessed. +lthou$h they cannot repay you, youwill be repaid at the resurrection of the ri$hteous.(

14a ts $ood to encoura$e people to feed the people who ha'e not muchwealth but it<s a cra1y thin$ to say do not in'ite your own family o'er fordinner because they will want to repay you the fa'our by in'itin$ you o'erin the future. 14b +lthou$h it<s a silly thin$ to say it make sense what hesaid if you see thin$s from a different perspecti'e which is that God =theone who inspired this book> knows that this book is written for bad and sosayin$ what it has 3ust said there is a $ood bit of re'erse psycholo$y. 14c

0here its tells the reader not to do somethin$ then says a 'ery $oodreason why you mi$ht want to in'ite them o'er, because they mi$ht in'ite

you to more thin$, doin$ this will encoura$e people to ha'e dinners andthis is a $ood thin$ as friendships can be made stron$er if you do suchthin$s!

15 0hen one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “"lessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kin$dom of God.( 16 Jesus replied* “+ certain man was preparin$ a $reat ban;uet and in'ited

many $uests. 17 +t the time of the ban;uet he sent his ser'ant to tellthose who had been in'ited, /ome, for e'erythin$ is now ready.



18 “"ut they all alike be$an to make excuses. )he first said, ha'e 3ustbou$ht a field, and must $o and see it. Please excuse me. 19 “+nother said, ha'e 3ust bou$ht fi'e yoke of oxen, and m on my wayto try them out. Please excuse me. 20 “%till another said, 3ust $ot married, so cant come. 21 “)he ser'ant came back and reported this to his master. )hen theowner of the house became an$ry and ordered his ser'ant, Go out;uickly into the streets and alleys of the town and brin$ in the poor, thecrippled, the blind and the lame. 22 “%ir, the ser'ant said, what you ordered has been done, but there isstill room. 23 “)hen the master told his ser'ant, Go out to the roads and countrylanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 tellyou, not one of those who were in'ited will $et a taste of my ban;uet.(

24a 8y first thou$hts on this story is 3ust that this man must not ha'e hadmany friends if none would come to his ben;uet. "ut it is $ood that hein'ited the poor instead because they would ha'e appreciated it more andhence would likely ha'e been more $rateful.

25 5ar$e crowds were tra'elin$ with Jesus, and turnin$ to them he said* 26

“f anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and

children, brothers and sisters&yes, e'en their own life&such a personcannot be my disciple. 27 +nd whoe'er does not carry their cross andfollow me cannot be my disciple.28 “%uppose one of you wants to build a tower. 0ont you first sit downand estimate the cost to see if you ha'e enou$h money to complete it? 29

-or if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, e'eryone whosees it will ridicule you, 30 sayin$, )his person be$an to build and wasntable to finish.

5ikewise with the kin$dom of hea'en, if you belie'e that you will $o tohea'en on the basis that e'erythin$ in the "ible is accurate, would you



not first test the thin$s in the book to pro'e that theory. 29 -or if you laythe foundation and are not able to finish it, e'eryone who sees it willridicule you, 30 sayin$, )his person be$an to build and wasnt able tofinish. 5ikewise this is what will happen to all who follow Jesus, you willlay the foundation but the return of him will ne'er happen for the 3esus

that is talked about is the AB Gospels are all about a made up false /hristnot the real one!

25 5ar$e crowds were readin$ to what +nna said, and turnin$ to them shewrote* 26 “f anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother,wife and children, brothers and sisters&yes, e'en their own life& such aperson is much better than the person who would hate their own family

for no $ood reason. 27 +nd whoe'er does not carry their cross and followJesus is considered to be smarter than the one who would do such thin$.28 “%uppose one of you wants to build a tower. 0ont you first sit downand estimate the cost to see if you ha'e enou$h money to complete it?5ikewise you should always think of what the outcome will be and thinkabout how much effort time or cost it will take to complete the outcome!29 -or if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, e'eryone whosees it will ridicule you, 30 sayin$, )his person be$an to build and wasntable to finish. so you should not $et into the habit of always startin$ newpro3ects so that the old pro3ects can ne'er be completed!

31 “#r suppose a kin$ is about to $o to war a$ainst another kin$. 0ont hefirst sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men tooppose the one comin$ a$ainst him with twenty thousand? 32 f he is notable, he will send a dele$ation while the other is still a lon$ way off andwill ask for terms of peace. 33 n the same way, those of you who do not$i'e up e'erythin$ you ha'e cannot be my disciples.

33a 2e should not really compared his disciples to the men fi$htin$ on abattlefield as it sounds like he<s promotin$ the idea or war! )rue he says

that a peace deal will try to be ne$otiated but it does not sound like it willbe $ranted and in battle few peice deals are made.

34 “%alt is $ood, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made saltya$ain? 35 t is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile it is thrownout. “0hoe'er has ears to hear, let them hear.(

15 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all $atherin$ around to hear

Jesus.2 "ut the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “)his manwelcomes sinners and eats with them.( 3 )hen Jesus told them this parable* 4 “%uppose one of you has a hundred

sheep and loses one of them. Doesnt he lea'e the ninety@nine in theopen country and $o after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 +nd when hefinds it, he 3oyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and $oes home. )hen he callshis friends and nei$hbors to$ether and says, Ce3oice with me ha'efound my lost sheep. 7 tell you that in the same way there will be morere3oicin$ in hea'en o'er one sinner who repents than o'er ninety@nineri$hteous persons who do not need to repent.

7a )his should to read backwards for sheep are more important thanone sheep. f a sheppard was wise and if he wants to keep his 3ob hewould look after as many of the sheep as he can. 7b f one runs off a $etslost that sheep would ha'e to then face the harsh reality that it mi$ht behunted by predators and may die. 7c t is the shepherd<s Job to protect thesheep and if he lea'es the $roup of sheep to find the one that has run offthere is a hi$h chance that he will come back and find all the sheep dead.7d )he sacrifice is called the lamb of God for she is proof that God caresmore about the se'eral billion people on :arth then she does about herown mortal self! 7e )ure thou$h if a sheep does $et lost a $ood shepherdswould lock up or $et someone to watch o'er the sheep so that theyare safe and only then can he $o out and try and sa'e the one that ismissin$. 7f )he last 'erse is also wron$ for the people in hea'en are 3ust

the people that are really happy in there point of life and if a sinnerrepents and turns to the Jerusalem the 8other, do not think that mostwould really care. 7g )his 'erse is an important line because it encoura$esliars, murderers and thie'es to chan$e their way as an$els will re3oice ifthey do but realistically of course this is 3ust a myth! 7h "ut in this a$emost people are not thie'es and murderers so this line causes more harmthan $ood, as most people belie'e themsel'es to be ri$hteous when theyare not. 7i 0hen hearin$ this story most people would see themsel'es asbein$ one of the sheep that do not need to be sa'ed when in realitysheep are 'ery dumb and so to be powd to be seen as one of these sheep

are really 3ust God<s way of sayin$ 7j “look see how stupid you are, for amember of your $roup $ot lost and yet you did not e'en notice.(

)his is how the story should be told*

4 )hen +nna told them this parable* “%uppose one of you has a hundredsheep and loses one of them. Doesnt he lea'e the ninety@nine in a securebarn and only then $o after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 +nd when hefinds it, he 3oyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and $oes home. )his is whatwill happen to the real /hrist7 %he will separate from the $roup but once

all the people are safely out of the old a$e and into the new, only then the/hrist will be sa'ed from her exile and isolation. 6a )hen the shepherd



calls his friends and nei$hbors to$ether and says, Ce3oice with me ha'efound my lost sheep. 7 tell you that in the same way there will be morere3oicin$ in hea'en o'er the God who was lost and yet was found thano'er ninety@nine persons who 3ust blindly followed Jesus into the barnbelie'in$ that they were all the ri$hteous ones, 7a when really they were

3ust the ones that were too unintelli$ent to notice that one of themembers in their $roup was missin$. 7b 5ikewise all that are part of the/hurch ha'e become like those sheep, for they two did not realise thatthe 8other who is the real /hrist was actually missin$ from their pack. 7c

"ut people are not sheep, you all ha'e far more intelli$ence than that ofsheep so you that you are in the barn you need to explain to each otherhow you let the 8other slip out away from all your teachin$s. 7d -or youwere made in God<s ima$e and all life comes from 8others, so why youbelie'e that all life comes from the father and his son really 3ust showsyour hi$h le'el of i$norance and hatred towards women!

7e )his story has some association with the parable of the wheat and thetears, $ettin$ ready for the har'est. 0hen 2ar'est comes they weretaken into the barn and separated into two $roups. :'ery story has two=or more> sides to it. 7f t was a bad thin$ that the sheep $ot lost, but if a$roup of adults $o on a hikin$ trip and they lose one member of their$roup, who is later found dead or hurt, 7g dependin$ on thecircumstances, the whole $roup must feel some responsibility for lettin$this happen or for not knowin$ at what point did this person $et lost. )hisshows the difference between the wheat and the tears. 7h )he wheat are

the ones who will acknowled$e a bad thin$ when it happens and they willlearn from it and produce a better beha'iour or attitude in the future buta tear is a person who will take no responsibility for anythin$ and willrefuse to chan$e or e'en think that they are in the wron$!

7i -inally if a ship full of passen$ers is in the middle of the icey waters andif there is only one dri'er, if one of the passen$ers falls into the water, likethe shepherd, 7j the ships captain should think about the safety of thema3ority and not 3ump into to the water if there is a hi$h chance that hemay die and the people on the ship will be left stranded. 7k -or sometimesaccidents happen but much can be learnt from their accidental sacrifice. 7l

6ou must do what you can to help them but you must be start in yourchoices and you must see the risk that you put yourself in and the riskthat you will put others in and act accordin$ly to your chances of sa'in$the one who needs helps. 7m t would be a terrible thin$ to sa'e one whois se'erely in3ured and lose AE in the process of sa'in$ that person who isin3ured.

8 “#r suppose a woman has ten sil'er coins and loses one. Doesnt sheli$ht a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 +nd



when she finds it, she calls her friends and nei$hbors to$ether and says, Ce3oice with me ha'e found my lost coin. 10 n the same way, tellyou, there is re3oicin$ in the presence of the an$els of God o'er onesinner who repents.(

10a )hat is a lie unless the sinner that they are referrin$ to is actually the/hrist who was an atheist for all of her life then repents by turnin$ to Godand realisin$ that she is the real /hrist. #nly at this will the +n$elsre3oice.

11 Jesus continued* “)here was a man who had two sons. 12 )he youn$erone said to his father, -ather, $i'e me my share of the estate. %o he

di'ided his property between them.13 “Not lon$ after that, the youn$er son $ot to$ether all he had, set off fora distant country and there s;uandered his wealth in wild li'in$. 14 +fterhe had spent e'erythin$, there was a se'ere famine in that wholecountry, and he be$an to be in need. 15 %o he went and hired himself outto a citi1en of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pi$s. 16 2elon$ed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pi$s were eatin$, but noone $a'e him anythin$.17 “0hen he came to his senses, he said, 2ow many of my fathers hiredser'ants ha'e food to spare, and here am star'in$ to death! 18 will set

out and $o back to my father and say to him* -ather, ha'e sinneda$ainst hea'en and a$ainst you. 19 am no lon$er worthy to be calledyour son make me like one of your hired ser'ants. 20 %o he $ot up andwent to his father. “"ut while he was still a lon$ way off, his father saw him and was filledwith compassion for him he ran to his son, threw his arms around himand kissed him.21 “)he son said to him, -ather, ha'e sinned a$ainst hea'en and a$ainstyou. am no lon$er worthy to be called your son. 22 “"ut the father said to his ser'ants, 9uick! "rin$ the best robe and putit on him.
