Welcome to Luxembourg InternationalComedy Festival 2016!

Since 2014 we've run approximately 4 stand-up comedy shows per year and built up a fantastic following of fans in Luxembourg – and we’re so excited to now bring you a

festival every November!

The festival takes place at 4 venues over 4 days and welcomes over 20 comedians from across the world – with over 20 shows & happenings to see!

Most shows are in English, but there’s also 1 show each in Swedish, Danish, German and Dutch! There’s also a show for kids (rec. ages 6 - 13+) with 3 comics, including Dave

Thompson (UK). Dave was Tinky Winky in the popular Teletubbies show!

Other international acts we welcome are Maureen Younger (UK), Andy Valvur (USA), Yianni Agisilaou (Australia), and top Scandinavian acts Isak Jansson (Sweden) and Claus Reiss (Denmark). Joining them will be a further 15+ comedians from UK, Greece, Canada,

Germany, Portugal, Israel, USA, Holland, New Zealand & more!

There’s also a workshop on Saturday Nov 19 afternoon where you can learn the basics of stand-up comedy (great for improving verbal communications skills!) and workshop

participants can also perform the same evening! There will also be a Local Talents Spe-cial with some rising stars of comedy who live in Luxembourg!

So be sure to get your Festival Card (see page 3) and save 40eur. The card also gives you free entry to the Gala Opening on Nov 17 and more!

We're really excited to bring you the festival with Ville de Luxembourg as Festival Partner.

Welcome to Luxembourg International Comedy Festival 2016!

Best Bagpipe Comedy Show in Europe...…and the only one. The Danish comedi-an Claus Reiss is the only comic in Europe who also entertains with the bagpipe.

He uses the odd instrument to play well-known tunes, but in a most untradi-tional way. And if you’re one of the over 2,200 Danes living in Luxembourg, be

sure not to miss the solo show with Claus in Danish on Saturday!

Isak is one of the foremost comedians on the Scandinavian circuit and is fresh of off his sell-out one man show across Sweden called "Everything is the florist's

fault" he is ready to rock your world with the absurd, downright witty, and charmingly hilarious, and if you are one of the more than 1,000 Swedes living in Luxembourg, be sure not to miss the show in Swedish on Saturday with Isak

and his new solo show!

Dave has performed comedy for over 20 years in places like Ireland, France, Hol-land, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, The Czech Re-

public, Slovakia, Sweden, Poland, and Monte Carlo. TV programmes such as ‘Harry Hill’s TV Burp’, and ‘The Sketch Show’ have commissioned Dave as a writer. Dave

is best known as the person inside the Tinky Winky costume in ‘Teletubbies’, which is still shown all over the world.

Maureen has lived in Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Russia and the Ukraine, and she began performing comedy sketches for a French café theatre group, Meceuil

Théâtre de Paris. On her return to the UK, she turned to stand-up, making the final of the 2007 Hackney Empire New Act competition. Known as one of the

foremost female acts and compere MCs on the UK circuit, she is also tri-lingual and also appeared in Band of Brothers.

One of Australia's top comics, Yianni regularly performs hour-long shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne comedy festivals and we are very happy to

welcome him to Luxembourg. "A skilfully crafted hour of wonderfully funny family anecdotes told with charm and passion" Time Out; Winner of Three Weeks Edi-

tors' Award; Own Comedy Central Special - 'The World Stands Up"

Soula is born and raised in Holland in a Greek family. Crisis indeed! She knows it by heart. Growing up with shouting and gesturing relatives (small bodies, lots of

movement), the only relief was comedy. And now, close to her well-deserved pension, she loves to tell stories filled with self-mockery to as many people as

possible.

Living in Luxembourg, come and see this quirky German comedian who will leave you giggling with laughter all the way home. Just the rarity alone of a German comedian is enough to have to see him perform. Peter will also host the Local Talents Special on Saturday.

Bob has delighted every corner of the world with his laconic and surprising comedy. A combination of kiwi isolation and the lurid madness of Benelux gives Bob a refreshingly unusual view of life as he sees it. Bob’s stand-up has seen him grace the stages of Montreal, London, Amsterdam andevery other corner of the planet.

Edo began his stage career in cabaret group Schering and Weft, which he was with in the finals of the Groningen Student cabaret and Leiden cabaret. In 2008 he won the Rabo Camuz Cabaret Festival and in 2010 the Griffioen Zuidplein cabaret. Previously, he was part of the tour of Night of Comedy. And if you’re one of the over 3,000 Dutch people living in Luxembourg, be sure not miss Edo’s solo show in Dutch on Saturday!

In this US election year and everyone fearing Trump in office, we welcome the great political comic Andy Valvur. Credits include Comedy Store in Los Angeles & the IMPROV and Catch a Rising Star in New York. Writing credits include Maxim, Cosmopolitan, Huffington Post and The New York Times. He was also a writer for political comic Will Durst’s Emmy nominated PBS show “The Durst Amendment” and Dan Aykroyd’s House of Blues Radio Hour. Be sure not to miss his solo show on Saturday called ‘The State of the European Union’!

The quick-witted German comedian Manuel Wolff is a charming young man and known for his dry observational humour, occasional outbursts of anger andsurprising improv skills. And if you are one of the over 12,000 Germans living in Luxembourg, be sure not to miss Manuel’s solo show in German on Saturday!

Taking Europe by storm, this American comic and IT nerd/statistician by day is an experimental comic known for great hosting skills and a dry sense of humour. Who knows what great jokes about his ex-wife he has in store for us.

Adam’s performances are peppered with spontaneous wit and schizophrenic leaps into other personalities. A lively and visual comic with well-crafted

routines that consistently induce hard and fast laughter. Adam has worked with some of the world’s top comedians and was even the support act for British

stand-up legend Jack Dee on his recent European tour.

Johnny is known as the godfather of English comedy in the Cologne region of Germany, Johnny is also a former Marlboro Man model! A fantastic voice as well,

he turns any karaoke night into a one-of-kind evening to remember. A completely lovable guy who will have you giggling all the way home.

Neil is a comedian with credits to his name such as Boom Chicago inAmsterdam, and is even a tour guide running 'comedy boats' on the canals of

Amsterdam. This Canadian lost in Holland is one of the foremost expat comedi-ans on the European circuit and probably the nicest person you've ever met.

Jeroen is one of the foremost names in Dutch comedy and known as the godfa-ther of the Utrecht comedy scene. Observational and twisted humour at its

finest - he is a bit of a communications skills expert and we're looking forward to the magic he can work on the audience during the festival.

One of the fastest up and coming stars in Benelux, Rotem is also an acclaimed singer and musician. She is currently living in Eindhoven and she perplexes audi-

ence with her unique take on what it’s like to be Israeli-German – political, provocative and downright clever, not to miss!

Many comedy fans in Luxembourg know Joe since bringing shows to Luxem-bourg since 2014. He currently resides in Sweden, across the water from Copen-

hagen, and is founder of InternationalComedians.com, he is also the founder of this Festival! Joe entertains crowds with his unique perspective about life as a

Canadian in Europe, stereotypes about different nationalities, culture clashes and lots of other fun things - a maple syrup mix of observational humour you

don't want to miss!

Jurg won the stand-up concours at the Amsterdam Kleinkunstfestival in 2008, and is known for his dark jokes, bizarre fantasies and is not afraid of rough stuff either. He's often mistaken for a really posh native speaker because of hislaboratory-bred Oxford English accent.

Carly is a Comedian of the Year Finalist in Scotland and began her comedy career at the Laff Stop in Houston. Having established herself on the North-East comedy scene, Carly then moved to Scotland and regularly gigged at such venues as The Stand in Edinburgh and Glasgow. She has also been involved with Comedy Capers at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Co-founder of Comedy Huis in Utrecht and a wonderful man with 3 daughters. Hank also co-runs the Utrecht International Comedy Festival each year and is an avid documentary maker.  He will host the Hangover Special on Sunday.

Susana is currently living in Luxembourg and will be one of the main acts of the Local Talents Special on Saturday. She is reeling with smiles after Portugal win-ning the European Cup, so she promises to be a bit nicer than her usual cut-throat, no holds barred comedy. A fantastically unique act not to miss!
