TRIP OVERVIEW
Relish in a temporary disconnect from technology with this luxury
tour of Lima, Sacred Valley and Cusco, including a visit to the majestic
Machu Picchu. Stay at five-star hotels and ride the most magnificent
trains to and from Machu Picchu.
DAY 1 | ARRIVAL TO LIMA
A transportation service and guide will pick you up from the airport at
the scheduled time to transfer you to your hotel in Lima. The Peruvian
capital is a modern metropolis full of history and is home to
approximately 10 million people. The city is currently undergoing an
exciting process of cultural and economic changes, which you will get
to enjoy on this trip.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
DAY 2 | LIMA – CITY TOUR AND BARRANCO
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from your hotel to downtown Lima
where you will visit Casa Aliaga, an old residence of the viceroyalty
handed over by Francisco Pizarro in 1535 to one of his captains
(Jerónimo de Aliaga). Then visit the Santo Domingo Convent, built
during the 16th century. Transfer to the Casona San Marcos.
Belonging to San Marcos University, the oldest in America, you will
enjoy the viceregal interiors and art that decorate the space.
Afterwards, visit Larco Museum, located in the traditional district of
Pueblo Libre. It was founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926 and is
located inside a viceregal mansion. The museum has an impressive
pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver pieces, as well as erotic art.
Then enjoy lunch in its famous Café del Museo Larco. Transfer to
Barranco, the bohemian district of Lima, known for its bars, museums,
galleries and urban art. Visit the Dédalo gallery, where craft and
artwork by local artists are offered. Transfer to the hotel at the end of
the tour.

DAY 3 | LIMA – CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY (90 min flight)
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Lima airport for you flight to
Cusco.

Once you have landed in Cusco, a transportation service takes you to
your selected hotel in the Sacred Valley. Free afternoon.

DAY 4 | SACRED VALLEY – RAFTING & OLLANTAYTAMBO
Breakfast at the hotel. Transport from your hotel to Pachar in the
Sacred Valley of the Incas. From there, you will board a boat to travel
the river for two hours in an exciting rafting experience. The ride ends
at the community of Cachiccata, where you will have a snack. From
there, you will begin the return to your hotel.
In the afternoon, you will be picked up and transferred to the
Ollantaytambo archaeological center stopping at various points of
interest along the route. Ollantaytambo is a typical example of the
urban planning of the Incas, whose residents still live in accordance
with their old traditions. It is considered one of the most remarkable
archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire. Then you will be
transferred back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

DAY 5 | SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES
Breakfast at your hotel. A transportation service will pick you up from
your hotel in Urubamba and transfer you to the Ollanta Station. Your
trip to Machu Picchu starts with a train ride in the Vistadome service
to the town of Aguas Calientes. You will enjoy magnificent 360 views
of the landscape on your way.
After a short trip, arrive at Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of
engineering and architecture that served as a sanctuary and resting
place for Inca Pachacuti. Machu Picchu means 'Old Mountain' and
was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is also one of the
New Seven Wonders of the World. At the end of the tour, enjoy a
delicious lunch at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. Free afternoon.

DAY 6 | MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, hike the Machu Picchu
Mountain (subject to space availability) for two and a half hours from
the archaeological site, and reach the Inca sanctuary. This trail
connects parts of the trail that leads to the Sun Gate, before climbing
to the highest point of the mountain. From that point, you'll
appreciate the citadel and other major attractions in the area, such as
mountains Putukusi, Wayna Picchu, Salkantay and the Vilcanota River.
After your visit, enjoy free time in the citadel. Later, enjoy a second
lunch in the private Sanctuary’s Lodge restaurant, only for guests who
stay in the hotel.
In the afternoon, have a tea time before you board the Luxury Hiram
Bingham train to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel.
Overnight at JW Marriott El Convento Cusco. Lunch included.
DAY 7 | CUSCO DEPARTURE
A vehicle will take you from your hotel to the airport. A representative
will assist you during the journey. Breakfast included.
