Total Solution

Eaton’s comprehensive

Low Voltage System

product portfolio

has been specifi cally

designed to meet the

needs of all types of

installation. The extensive

portfolio includes:

• Power supply and control assemblies (PSCs)

• Package sub-stations

• Main and Sub-main Switchboards

• Busbar trunking

• Motor control centres

• Power factor correction

• Engineered assemblies

Wide range of application

As might be expected

from such a comprehensive

portfolio Eaton’s low

voltage power distribution

and control systems

have been used in

almost all areas of

application including:

• Shops

• Schools

• Hospitals

• Warehouses

• Hotels

• Prisons

• Restaurants

• Data centres

• Sport stadiums

• Factories

• Petro-chem

• Airports

• Railways

Designed for effi ciency and ease of use

Eaton LVS products are designed to be as space and energy effi cient as is practicable whilst maintaining good access for installation, operation and maintenance. In particular our designs feature:

• Wide selection of standard modules to ensure that products meet widest range of application specifi c requirements

• Product data readily available to simplify specifi cation/selection

• Designed to be assembled and supplied quickly

• Designed for ease of installation, meeting the challenges offered by large cables, limited spaces, restricted access and the like

• Minimal maintenance requirements to ensure dependability and lowest cost of ownership

• May incorporate energy cost and CO2 footprint reducing features:

• Power factor correction modules

• Active harmonic fi ltration modules

• Voltage reduction technology to substantially reduce power consumption

Safety assured

Product safety is integral to the design of all Eaton low voltage system products. Extensive use of substantial rigid barriers constructed from either insulated or metallic components ensures the safety of all installers, operators and maintainers of our products.

Internal Arc-fault management

Specifi ers and users of low voltage power switchgear assemblies are becoming increasingly aware of the hazards associated with internal arc-fl ash faults. The ferocity of an arc-fl ash is such that damage to the assembly and the emission of personnel threatening arcing gasses to the surrounding area may occur within as little as 20 milli-seconds. Both personnel and plant may be at risk from such arc-fl ash faults. Eaton has developed two market leading solutions to address this problem, both of which have been designed to not only protect personnel but also to ensure that assemblies remain suitable for use:

Arcon

Arcon arc-fl ash fault management units may be incorporated in all Eaton LVS assemblies. Arcon is a patented product developed by Eaton to ensure that any arc-fl ash fault which may occur is extinguished within 2 milli-seconds. This extremely high speed of operation ensures not only personnel safety but also that the assembly may be returned to full service after minimal maintenance and testing.

Arc-free assemblies

Our motor control centres may be specifi ed to include features such as phase segregated busbars to ensure that they are arc-free. Our phase segregation techniques ensure that arcing faults can not occur in our MCCs.

Verifi ed design performance

It is Eaton policy that all products are subjected to rigorous testing and verifi cation programs by, or under the supervision of, internationally recognised and respected third party organisations including:

• Kema

• ASTA

• LOVAG

• Underwriters Laboratories (UL)

Quality and performance assured

Control of manufactured quality is essential to ensure that all products produced are in accordance with product designs, meet performance demands and customer expectations when installed. All Eaton low voltage systems are designed for reliable, 100% correct fi rst time assembly, all manufacturing facilities have extensive quality care procedures throughout the manufacturing process, and all products are routinely verifi ed before despatch. As might be expected, all manufacturing facilities operate quality assurance systems audited and accredited by third party organisations including:

• BSI

• Kema

• ASTA

• Underwriters Laboratories (UL)

Approved products

In addition to third party performance and quality verifi cation many Eaton low voltage systems hold specialist approvals from:

• DNV

• Lloyds

• Underwriters Laboratories (UL)

• Kema-keur

Fully supported

Our products are supported pre-order with catalogues and technical data and our bespoke Bid Manager software which provides fast and accurate pricing with all dimensional details and drawings of an assembly. Post order we supply operation and maintenance manuals which include installation and operation instructions, assembly drawings and schematics.

In addition to documentary support we also offer installation, commissioning and maintenance services for all of our products.

Eaton’s Low Voltage Systems meet the needs of all installations.
