Day 1|Thursday, April 16: Arrive in Lviv (-/-/D)

Welcome to Lviv, a city that is the centre of the Galicia province and considered to be the cultural centre of Ukraine! Lvivians have always been very religious, and followed the ancient

Easter customs closely, so you’ll be able to observe that even in the

21st century Easter for the locals is one of the most significant

religious holidays!

Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city.

After some time to freshen up we will take you for a walk around this ancient city with a modern vibe on a city

Day 3 |Saturday, April 18: Kosiv (B/L/-)

On this day you’ll see something absolutely unique – early in the morning we will drive to the famous Kosiv

Crafts Market. Once a week vendors and craftsmen from the area get together to buy and sell art supplies,

embroidery, antiques, food products and even live animals! Pick up a basket, an embroidered shirt, and your

‘Paska’ (Easter bread) and you’re all set for this holiday!

Lunch after shopping.

Later on we will take a master class at woodcarver’s family home, we’ll see their works, watch how to carve a

traditional Hutsul Style cross for a necklace and have the opportunity to buy some souvenirs.

Afterwards, we’ll take you to the hotel, where we will take part in an ‘Easter Basket’ tutorial – learn all the

Easter holiday symbolism, traditions and superstitions!

Day 4|Sunday, April 19: Easter Celebration (B/L/-)

Hutsul Easter eggs represent a more colorful variety of Easter eggs.

Traditionally, they were decorated with geometric patterns combined with the tree of life (a branch with birds), Hutsul huts, horses, butterflies, fishes, and the like. Roses were also drawn on

pysanky of this region.

Are you ready to be inspired by traditions for the rest of the year?

If yes, then for Easter Sunday we’ll take you to one of the most traditional Carpathian villages, where you’ll be

able to learn more about the culture of the Hutsul people, Ukrainian ethnos with colourful traditions , and a place

of inspiration for artists and writers. Every village in the

Carpathians is famous for its craftsmen and artists, who have

cherished and preserved traditions for many generations.

On this special day get involved in Easter Celebrations at the old

village church. Attend Holy Mass, sing with locals and feel the spirit

of Christ’s Resurrection. After, you will partake in ancient Ukrainian

rituals and sample delicacies prepared specifically for the Easter

festivities and experience real Carpathian hospitality celebrating

together with local people.

When you come back to the hotel, take some down time for Pysanka writing!

Day 5|Monday, April 20: Easter Celebration (B/L/-)

In the morning, we’ll take a trip to the village of Yavoriv, famous for

its unique lizhnyky – woolen blankets. You’ll learn why only

women make them, and how through the centuries this tradition has

been preserved. You will also be able to try making some. At the end

of the workshop, take the opportunity to buy a masterpiece for

yourself or your friends.

Next stop - the village of Bukovets, located higher up in the

mountains, in which inhabitants have been preserving their

ancestors’ traditions up til present day!

You will be cordially invited for lunch with a local Hutsul family! Learn traditional songs; try rich and natural

home-made Hutsul food! Then meet with a local priest, who’ll open you the ancient wooden church and tell you

more about its history!

After breakfast, we will set out for the capital of Bukovyna, beautiful multicultural city – Chernivtsi! First, we will have a special treat – spend a day with a locals in the village of Tulova where we will take part in traditional Easter rituals – Haijivky. You will learn traditional songs and dances with locals and continue Easter celebration. Afterwards, we’ll hit the road again and drive to Chernivtsi. Upon arrival, check-in and then your guide will conduct a city orientation, showing you around!

Day 7|Wednesday, April 22: Chernivtsi (B/-/D) Today we’ll get acquainted you will the region of Bukovyna.

We will take a guided city tour where you’ll have a chance to learn about Chernivtsi’s fascinating multicultural

history, and visit the most beautiful and notable sights the city has to offer.

One more must-visit place is the local Hogwarts-like University – the architectural ensemble of the main

campus of the university, the Residence of Bukovynian and Dalmatian Metropolitans are included on the list of

UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Lunch – you’ll try traditional Bukovynian dishes!

After,take a Bukovyna Pysanka workshop – dig deeper into the art of writing Buko Easter eggs together with

a local artist!

Day 8| Thursday, April 23: Chernivtsi – Kamianets-Podislky – Chernivtsi (B/L/-)

We’re taking you on a time travel today! Not literally, of course, but

you’ll get to see how the local princes and rulers lived – visit the

fortress of Kamianets Podislky! The different peoples and cultures that have lived in Kamianets-

Podilsky have each brought their own culture and architecture.

We’ll learn the city’s history on a city tour through the most famous

tourist attractions, the ancient fortress, the cathedral of Saints

Peter and Paul, the City Hall building and numerous fortifications.

Returning to Chernivtsi, get ready for the show of the incredibly

talented and famous Folk Ensemble Gerdan. Get ready to be amazed!

In Bukovyna, geometric drawings of a fairly large size were popular. The ornaments and stripes were placed on a dark red or black background.

After breakfast we are leaving Chernivtsi and heading to Kolomyia - the center of Pokuttya region and the

homeland of the world’s biggest Easter Egg!

Pokuttya pysanky have large drawings with floral motifs and lines

that divide the egg into a half or into smaller pieces. The eggs feature

green, blue, red, brown or yellow backgrounds. The distinguishing

feature of these Easter eggs is the bright contrasting spots on the

entire surface of the egg.

Day 12| Monday, April 27: Kolomyia – Lviv (B/-/D)

On this day we’ll travel back to Lviv.

Pysanky of the Lviv region have geometric patterns (triangles), solar motifs and floral ornaments. Some have images of birds, crosses, and water symbols. Detalisation and detailed figures are specific to Lviv pysanky.

On our way to Lviv, we’ll stop for lunch.

Once we arrive in Lviv, we’ll to check in, then some time to relax and unwind.

Your guide will gladly help to recommend some great places where you can go and what to see in your spare

time!

Day 13| Tuesday, April 28: Lviv (B/L/-)

In the morning after breakfast we will take you on a train city tour and later – a walking city tour, to get you

acquainted with the rich culture and history of the city, followed by lunch in one of our favorite local

restaurants.

Then lunch and a Pysanka writing workshop in Shevchenkivsky Hai, an open-air museum and aplace, which

recreates the traditional atmosphere and households of villages from different regions around Western

Ukraine.Here, you’ll improve your skills with a professional Galician pysanka writing artist.

To end our trip on a high note – we’ll treat you to a festive dinner and Ukrainian Zabava with some very special

guests joining us!

Day 14| Wednesday, April 29: Lviv (B/-/-)

After some free time to stock up on souvenirs we will transfer you to the airport where, sadly, it’s time to go back home or continue on to new exciting destinations.
