MADELEINE WEST TO LAUNCH EXCITING NEW SERIES LILY D, V.A.P OUT MAY 1!

Hardie Grant Egmont is pleased to announce the launch of a new series by Australian actor turned author, Madeleine West. Lily D, V.A.P is an exciting junior series, with the first three books releasing 1st May 2018.

The beloved Australian actor and mother of six has written her first children’s series for middle grade readers (8-12 years). The series begins with Lily D, V.A.P – Orphan Annie, and is followed by titles Lily D, V.A.P – Lost Dorothy and Lily D, V.A.P – Snow Bean.

Lily D, V.I.P follows the adventures of Lily, a jump-off-the-page, totally believable character who is full of beans – which is good news because she is very busy! It’s her dream to become a performance artiste when she grows up. Lily thinks of herself as a V.A.P (a Very Amazing Performer). But Lily is no child star, she understands that success requires hard work and respect.

In each book in the series Lily ‘goes method’ to inhabit a theatrical character and learns something about the lives of others and her own along the way. She looks for positives in everyone and strives to treat others with kindness and respect.

“I’m thrilled to finally release my first series of children’s books, Lily D, V.A.P.” Says Madeleine. “As a mother of six young kids, it’s always been important to me that they follow their own ambitions and I want to inspire other children to bring their dreams to life.”

Since first staring on Neighbours in 1999 as Dee Bliss, Madeleine West has featured in some of Australia’s most popular dramas. Her extraordinary career has included lead roles in Underbelly, House Husbands and Satisfaction, and most recently in Zoe Foster Blake’s The Wrong Girl. Madeleine will be returning to screens this year on Channel Ten’s newest sensational series WAGS. She is also the author of parenting book Six Under Eight, published in 2016.

Lily D, V.I.P is pitched at middle-grade readers (8-12 years) and hits shelves on 1st May 2018.
