• The demands on fine boring toolsare primarily increasingimprovements to surface finishesand at the same time higher cuttingspeeds for short machining times.

• Fine machining is a demanding boremachining operation. With M03micro-adjustable heads KOMET hasprovided a tried and tested toolsystem which, with its high precisionadjustment mechanism, from therough adjustment for the rotatingclamping holder to the graduationcollar on the external diameter,allows fine adjustment steps of upto 0.002 millimeters in the diameter.

• The fine adjustment for wearcompensation or after measurementis then carried out extremelyaccurately directly on the machinespindle. There is no need for clampingduring and after this fine adjustment,which means that the dimensioncan be perfectly maintained.

• Balancing: when the insert positionis changed, there is an automaticbalancing adjustment by means of amoveable balancing weight whichlies diametrically opposite. This is abalancing operation on theadjustment plane for the insert.

• This is based on six tool bodies tocover diameters from 24.8 to 206millimeters. Maximum changeoveraccuracy is guaranteed with ABSconnections (25, 32, 40, 50 and 63).

• Diameters from 38 to 206 areprovided for by means of threeadaptable and replaceable bridges.

• Just like the whole production range,the bridges - which are in alightweight material with a hardsurface coating - allow highmachining speeds to be achieved.

• Flexibility with replaceable insert

holders: the replaceable insertholders are special feature of thenew product range.

• The user has the facility to carry outforward and reverse machining withone tool with different approachangles. Using a specially designedconnection, the changeover is fast,uncomplicated and safe.
