How does it work? The School League tournament gamesare played between teams from differentschools. Each team is made up of fourplayers who will play individually againstplayers from other teams. Each playermust have their own army and all teammembers must be playing the same system i.e four pupils playing Warhammer or fourpupils playing War of the Ring etc.

The points for each game are added

together to create a team score the team with the most points wins!

Units with DistinctElements and Kill pointsSome units consist of parts thatdeploy and operate separately, suchas a squad of Space Marines and theirRhino transport vehicle, Space Marinesquads that split into combat squads,a Brood of Lictors or an ImperialGuard Infantry Platoon. Treat eachelement separately for Kill Pointspurposes. The same approach is takenwhen an independent character has aCommand squad or retinue. Eachelement is a separate unit and thus isworth a Kill Point when destroyed.

and how long they have been playing.

The other thing that you will need toconsider is getting trip permission and allassociated administration. If you find thatgetting permission to take the club to thestore is difficult, or the transport isunavailable, it might be worth letting theclub members know that there will be anevent in store and get them to meet youthere. This way can also help with thetransport issue as they will be dropped offby parents or make their own way.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED

    What is the age range

    permitted in a SchoolLeague Team?Age 11 18 or school years 7 to 13.

How many people are ina team? There are four people in a team.

Can we have one team thatplays all three games? No, at the Finals the three differentsystems will all be played at the same timeso you will need a separate team of fourpeople for each system you want to play.

For example you can have a Warhammerteam, a Warhammer 40,000 team and aThe Lord of The Rings team.

Does each team memberhave to have their own army?Yes, each member has to have their ownarmy chosen using the School League rules.(See page 3 of this pack).

Does each team memberhave to have the same army? No, the armies can be different.

Does each army have tobe painted?Yes, you will lose points for eachunpainted army in the tournament.

This could well mean the differencebetween qualifying for the next stage in

    the tournament or not!

What counts as a paintedarmy?Three colours minimum and based. Apainted model means that every part of themodel is appropriately painted, for exampleleaving a sword black means the model isnot fully painted and therefore the wholeforce counts as unpainted. Ask the staff inyour local Games Workshop for anexample if you are unsure about this.

What counts as based?Based means that at least one layer oftexture has been applied to the modelsbase and painted where appropriate.

How do I get hold of anArmy Roster? In this School League pack (and in the ClubResources section of our website) you willfind blank Roster Sheets for you to fill inwith your Army List. If you need help withthis please get in touch with your localGames Workshop store.

Why are there pointsawarded for bringingrulebooks, Codexes, ArmyBooks and gaming materials? This is because the rules in the SchoolLeague pack use scenarios andinformation contained in the rulebooks. For Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000players there will be special rules for

their specific armies contained in their

Codex/Army book. It is impossible to getthe most out of your army without thesebooks! They are also there to encourageeach student to look up rules andquestions for themselves. The gamingmaterials will be needed to play thegame and it is a poor commander thatgoes into battle unprepared!

Can my school field multipleteams for each system? For most Regional Heats you will only beable to field one team per system. Atselected Regional Heats you will be able

to field more than one team but only ifyou have one team per system alreadyplaying. Priority will be given to newteams wanting to join. At the InternationalFinal you can only have a maximum ofone team per system.
