Chapter 1: Introducing
Thank You for choosing the M2M Pro router device for your business.
1.1 Product overview
M2M Router Pro is an advanced, programmable modem device which has numerous
additional functions (hardware and software). These possibilities make the device suitable for
ensuring the communication backgourd for almost any industrial applications and secure
application needs as parts of high-available (HA) systems.
The device estabilish the connection between various network systems
(GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSDPAEthernet) – with application of the widely supported
wireless network standards – through the option that almost any reachable communication
module can be connected towards the router.
The primary task of the programmable modem device is to keep the
GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA interface module on the network continously and in case of
connection loose, it has to connect it again.
We can switch several different or parallel devices to the router (for example an
industrial IP-camera), which will connect to the device and the network also through
the Ethernet connector, and it will get through the necessary data for the central
server.
The router is prominently suitable at non-ADSL supported locations as an alternative
solution to secure the internet/network access (owing for the high-speed mobile
network connection).

1.2 Main features
Hardware and functional properties
High-capacity, powerful AMR9 microprocessor (180 MHz clock speed, 200
MIPS)
Mobile service provider- independent usage supported – You can choose the
option to handle two different providers’ Mobile SIM cards at the same time
(dual, paralell SIM option)
8 Mbyte dataflash memory (for the MicroBoot– romboot, u-boot, kernel,
file-system (rootfs) and for storing the WMR-made softwares (/mnt
partition))
64Mbyte NAND flash memory for storing the applications and programm data

2.3 Optional module extensions
There are more option to swith an additional HSDPA or EDGE module to the router. This
hardware upgrade process and the further software implementation and programming will
be handled by the WMR Rendszerház.
You only need to make Your choice among the module standard and other operational
functions which You wanted to use. You should define the connectable devices and
communication types and the quality of service (for example HA, network bandwith, etc.)
and approximately negotiate the annual costs for securing the service. Co-workers of WMR
will help You to make Your ideal decision, and with this support You’ll be absolutely able to
choose the most-required module for Your business (based on technician and cost-
efficiency angles considering the local conditions).
The following optional modules can be associated to the M2M Pro router device:
a.) Gemalto® PH8 module
- High-speed wireless network data traffic required usage (Telemetric
applications, security systems (video and audio signal forwarding and
delivery))
- High-speed USB connections and/or Hi-speed data traffic required industrial
applications
b.) Gemalto® MC75 module
