Gravity Feed

The FitzMill process chamber is often fed simplyby gravity. The S-Pan and VHP D6As, alongwith the SPV Cabinet Base D6A provideoptimal GMP when gravity-fed milling is desired.

The RP Cabinet Base M5A incorporates the feed panand feed throat in one piece. The cabinet base designalso integrates the base and controls into a self-containedportable unit.

D6A also available in this configuration.

The VHP D6A featured above employs a large feedpan which is separate from the feed throat. The VHPdesign is ideal for efficient feeding of large material.

The Product Containment System (PCS) isdesigned to contain the product inside the processcomponents in order to prevent airborne dust fromescaping into the atmosphere. A second objective ofthis system is to facilitate operation in an inertenvironment. The method used to contain the productis similar to isolator technology. The process area iskept under a slight negative pressure to ensure thatno powder migrates to the outside.

Fitzpatrick has incorporated many exclusive featuresto ensure a tightly sealed machine, which is critical tothis design; however, a number of other componentsare also required to allow for effective operation. ThePCS uses several primary filters in the machinedischarge. These filters are connected to a vacuumsystem which maintains the proper condition insidethe processing chamber. A Fitzpatrick exclusivebackpurge cartridge (patented) is utilized to drawprocess gas in from one filter, in order to backpurgeand thereby clean another filter.

The VFS D6A PCS LB includes the electricsmounted in an enclosure that is integral to the machine base. The upper section isavailable with an adjustable height feature.

Isolator Designs Available

The RV D6A PCS with remote electrics (controls notshown) includes a rotary valve feed system.

The process area is well-sealed and operatingunder a slight vacuum. The containment challengeis to ensure product doesn’t escape the system as itis brought to and away from the machine. This isdone through the use of containment valves or othertechniques as required to feed and discharge theproduct in a contained system.

Isolator Mount Available For Additional Safety

For situations where additional levels of containmentare required, contained equipment can be customizedto facilitate installation in Barrier Isolators, LaminarFlow Booths, or other containment systems. Thesetypes of installations are particularly convenient forcontaining laboratory equipment where componentsare relatively small and products being processedmay be unknown.

Bar Rotor

The comminuting bar rotor operatesat a low speed and reduced energylevel. Creating a sifting action closeto the screen without contact, the barrotor gently granulates and delumps.

Screen Variations

An extensive selection of screentypes and sizes accommodatesyour particle size requirements.Screens are available withopenings from 0.30mm/.012into 38mm/1.5in, with round orsquare perforations, diagonal orstraight slots, or in wire mesh.

Rotor Features

D6A versatility is enhanced with itsone-piece, reversible knife/impactrotor. The impact edge pulverizes,emulsifies and purees, and the knifeedge granulates, chops and sizes.Switching from knife to impact isaccomplished simply by reversing the rotor.
