    SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ANDCORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

    Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility took on a new dimension in 2012 following thepublication of the decree to implement Article 22 of the !renelle "" #aw$ %he verification ofcorporate& social and environmental data by an independent third party has become mandatory for'rench companies$ () !roup was already committed to this new obligation and is thereforecontinuing its drive for action and transparency within these three areas$() !roup firmly believes that this information enables the various stakeholders involved to betterassess their overall performance in the medium* and long*term& and more generally& that corporateresponsibility goes hand in hand with economic performance$

    () !roup thus pursues an active CSR policy and clearly signals its commitments to all its partners&including viewers& employees& customers& shareholders& suppliers& public authorities and the civilsociety$

    'aced with various social& corporate and environmental challenges& and as a commitment to all itsstakeholders& the !roup has developed a CSR approach structured around three priorities which aredirectly linked to its activities+

    - Talent management: the !roup firmly believes that its employees are the cornerstone of itssuccess$ "t is for this reason that the ,uman Resources -epartment places employeeselection and subse.uent loyalty building at the heart of its concerns& and endeavours topromote employee development in all aspects of their professional life$

    - Respect for the public and responsibility towards society + since the !roup/s activity isprimarily intangible and cultural& the societal impact is the unifying thread of its commitment$%hrough its programmes& the !roup actually enters into peoples/ homes and must thereforeput respect for viewers at the heart of what it does$

    - Non-discrimination + taking diversity into account is a key concern for the !roup& both inrelation to audiovisual content and the audience it addresses$ %his is reflected notably by across*organisational and acknowledged commitment to promote e.uality and betterrepresentation of women and minorities in the media$

    Methodology note regarding non-financial1.reporting

    Framework%he reporting of non*financial indicators is based on national and international guidelines$ Corporate&social and environmental indicators refer in particular to the provisions of the -ecree of 25 April 2012passed in application of the #aw of 12 6uly 2010 on national environmental commitment$() !roup has also referred to !R" 7!lobal Reporting "nitiative8 guidelines as well as the principles setout in the 9nited :ations; !lobal Compact for the implementation of its non*financial reporting andcommunication$

    Indicators%he indicators presented in this section have been sub(! asre.uired by legislation& including detailed tests on the most relevant indicators$ >articular emphasishas been placed on the social and corporate indicators related to the !roup/s strategic challenges$

    Reporting scope%he reporting scope has been set in accordance with the provisions of Articles #$2??*1 and # 2??*?of the 'rench Commercial Code and covers subsidiaries and controlled companies$

    Certain indicators relate to specific scopes e cluding certain entities in that case the scope to beconsidered is specified beside the information$
