Coextruded weatherstrips with rigid back for an easier insertion and an excellent grip in the groove. The rigid part can be recognized from the lighter colour in profile’s drawing. Produced in coils which allow to save time and materials. Also available for these articles the decoiler “A28” and the scissors “A27” to corner-cut the weatherstrips.

The material of the weatherstrip guarantees their performance over time: with the same shape and size, better is the elastic memory of the material, better are the performances of the weatherstrip.This evaluetion must be done according to the enviromental conditions in which the weatherstrips will be installed: interior doos or external window.For the choice of material should be considered the future compatibility with the products or process in which the door/window will be involved: mainly the choice depends on the solvents used for paints.There is no weatherstrip right at all, but knowing all these characteristics, you can make the best choice.

Description

K Blend based on plasticized PVC, was the first material used for the production of weatherstrip for wooden windows. It is an extremely versatile material in colors and hardenesses that allows the production of coextruded articles. The material requires operating temperatures not too high and is therefore more suitable for applications within the house even though it has an excellent stability to ultraviolet rays and ozone.The excellent processability typical of hot melt materials allows you to work with compression up to 3 mm and tolerances on nominal dimensions of ± 0,3 mm. The compounds can be recycled, reducing environmental impact.

Thermoplastic compound made of TPE is the evolution introduced with the birth of solvent based water-paints, it retains the versatility hardnesses and colours, allowing the production of coextruded.The material combines excellent UV rays and ozone stability at high temperatures, so it is also suitable for outdoor use. The excellent processability typical of hot melt materials allows you to work with compression up to 3 mm and tolerances on nomi-nal dimensions of ± 0,3 mm. Due to the fact that these compounds are not cured, they can be recycled to reduce the environmental impact.

Energetic requalification of the window opening

Recently, the attention towards energy saving, renewable energies and the rational utilization of energy resources has been exponentially growing.

Italy, as many other western countries, has a negative energy balance, so it is forced to find sources of primary energy, such as oil, methane gas or charcoal abroad.

To improve this situation, everyone can contribute to the energetic requalification of the private houses.

According to recent studies carried out by ENEA, the more affordable energy saving interventions - thinking to value for money - are the requalification of the window frames (see Table 1): insulation of the old roller shutter box and installation of new weatherstrips.

In this regard, Roverplastik promotes the requalification of the window opening with two types of interventions: Renova system for the roller shutter box requalification and the kit for the window/door frame renovation.

The table below shows the payback time of the energetic requalification. It is calcula-ted considering the price of the fuel, the average cost of each material used and the obtained energy saving, without considering the possible deductions.

Adhesive coextruded high-performance drop-shaped weatherstrips with inner tube are designed to solve drafts, noises and thermal problems.
