ThesuitesThe resort’s 190 beautifully appointed, luxurious suites all feature private furnished terraces or balconies, many with uninterrupted views of the mountains and ocean.

Boasting plenty of natural light, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, they offer the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind. All suites are 40m2 and feature a large living room, bedroom and two bathrooms (bath and a walk-in shower).


The diningMacdonald Monchique Resort & Spa offers a range of gastronomic treats in its four restaurants.

Options range from an informal petiscos (Portuguese tapas) and a pizzeria through to a gourmet food market and a fine-dining restaurant specialising in local fish and wines. There’s also an elegant cocktail bar and two pool bars.

A tapas-style restaurant serving the best of Portuguese cuisine made with local produce and seasonal ingredients. Wide selection of Portuguese wines is always at hand.

Featuring a spacious outdoor terrace with beautiful views over the mountains and serves typical and fresh produce of an authentic Neapolitan pizzeria with a regional twist.

Our gourmet market which is a place where guests can find a varied choice of Portuguese wines, food, pastry, specialities and snacks, as well as several Portuguese souvenirs. Make sure you stock up on Portuguese wine and Pastel de Nata before you leave. Travel essentials are also available.

The bars


The Resort’s cocktail bar, offers a wonderful atmosphere, a large range of drinks and cocktails, ‘Happy Hour’ in the early evening and frequent live entertainment.

Set next to the family pool and children’s play area, this relaxed pool bar is perfect for families, and offers a wide variety of snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Serving a range of drinks, snacks and light lunches, this laid-back bar is situated next to the resort’s main pool, making it the perfect destination for casual poolside eating and drinking. The bar also serves bottled Monchique thermal water, which is said to have healing properties.

The spa


Inspired by the Algarve’s most valuable natural resources and the breath-taking beauty of Monchique, our Sensorial spa is the epitome of pure rejuvenation and relaxation.

The spa offers a range of treatments from international luxury spa brand ESPA - a pioneer in the science of natural beauty - as well as treatments from local brand Monchique Cosmetics, which uses local thermal water in its products to give you radiant skin.
