Goal of GTM
The goal of GTM is to provide Macomb County high school students with the skills
and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s dynamic world economy through an intensive, two-day, hands-on virtual learning experience that simulates an
international trade mission.

Day 2 - WednesdayDr. Donald Ritzenhein, Presentation Polish
•Students spend the majority of the day working with the assistance of business coaches, cultural coaches, and teacher-coaches.

Day 3 - ThursdayBy region, students present their trade mission
projects to a (mock) board of investors.
After all groups have presented, the investors will decide which groups will be awarded a $1,000,000 investment for their product.
ExportsmanshipDiversity • Students recognize and draw on the different talents and experiences
that their team members bring to the Global Trade Mission.Enthusiasm • Students arrive each day ready to learn, they demonstrate drive and
active participation in their mission, and their enthusiasm is contagious to others.
Goal-Driven• Students set multiple goals for themselves and work together to ensure
that all team members, as well as the team as a whole, accomplish those goals. The setting and accomplishment of these goals helps the students stay on track while working on the project.
Resourcefulness • Students professionally utilize and construct meaning from all resources
provided to them, including business coaches, cultural coaches, technology, lifelines, etc. Students succeed under pressure.
Team Unity • Students listen to each others ideas, demonstrate teamwork and
courtesy to one another, exhibit team spirit, and demonstrate fairness, helpfulness, and unselfishness to their team members and other GTM participants.
