For more than 30 years now scientists from all over the world appreciate the quality andreliability of the products “Made by Herolab”.

The core competence of Herolab is

based in Centrifuges with the

necessary accessories and its ability

to meet the needs of any application –from the small table top centrifuge to the high speed floor model with a capacity of up to 6 liters. Herolab attained to the illustrious circle of high speed centrifuges manufacturer and is well-known to customers all over the world. Different rotors and accessories provide unlimited versatility. More than 250 different tubes and bottles for high-speed and ultra centrifugation leave nothing to be desired.

The implementation of new

technologies and the enhancement of long-lived experience lead to innovative, most durable centrifuges that set new standards in terms of safety and user-friendly operation. The intuitive operation and a couple of independent safety elements provide maximum comfort.

The Gel Documentationproducts include sophisticated imaging systems and specialized E.A.S.Y® Win32 analysis software modules. Camera configurations and control software are adapted to suit a variety of different applications. All matched in complete systems that are affordable and easy to use. Beginning with inexpensive imaging systems and ending with chemiluminescence detectioncapabilities of a double-stage cooled, high-resolution camera.

The Proteomic Workstation

is a robotic system with

integrated fluorescence detection unit for automatic extraction of selected protein spots after 2D electrophoresis.

A wide variety of UV Products is

another part of Herolab’s product range. Various UV- and Blue Light-Transilluminators and UV hand lamps differing in size, wavelength and other configurations complete the product versatility and offer the adequate product for any application. The accessories include RadiCon®

plates as UV to white light converter as well as protection and handling products.

In addition to that Herolab offers a PCR® Workstation with or without a built-in UV-Crosslinker. The Crosslinker, a microprocessor controlled UV irradiation system, is also available as a single device.

ROHSWEEE

2012-01

On January 27th, 2003 the European Union passed the directives ROHS and WEEE. In Germany those were put into national law, the so-called ElektroG entered into force since March 24th, 2005.

The RoHS directive of the European Union deals with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronical products. Central requirement for example is the lead-free prduction of those products.

Together with RoHS, the WEEE directive of the European Union was passed, being concerned with the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and especially aiming at increasing the recycling rate. The disposal costs for old devices have to be paid by the manufacturers of those products.

The ElektroG governs the sale, return, and environmentally sound disposal of electrical and electronic equipment. Within the scope of product responsibility the manufacturers are put in charge for environmentally compatible device conceptions up to the return and disposal of electrical and electronic devices.

The ear (Elektronik-Altgeräte Register) foundation was authorized to implement the ElektroG. This includes the registration of all manufacturers (producers or importers) in Germany either as b2b (business-to-business) or b2c (business-to-customer) manufacturer, which must have been done until November 24th, 2005. Products for private use (b2c) are disposed at special public waste collection places. The disposal of industrial products (b2b) can be assumed by the manufacturers themselves.

From March 24th, 2006 on, all electrical and electronic equipment, being sold on the EU market after August 13th, 2005 for the first time, have to be marked with the "double crossed-out wheeled bin", as they

must not be disposed with the domestic waste.

As a manufacturer of measurement technology products of the category 9 we produce in compliance with RoHS. The Herolab GmbH Laborgeräte is registered at the ear as a b2b manufacturer with the WEEE reg. no. DE66734561.

The customer assumes the duty to duly dispose of the delivered goods after end of use on his expenses according to the law and releases the seller from his obligation as in § 10 art. 2 ElektroG (take back requirement of the manufacturer) and related claims.

Third parties to whom he passes on the products the customer has to bind by contract to duly dispose of the delivered goods after end of use on their expenses according to the law and in case of further passing on to impose an according obligation onto them.

If the customer fails to pass on the obligation to thirds he himself is obliged on his own expenses to take back the goods after end of use and duly dispose of them according to the law.

The right of the manufacturer to pass on the obligation to duly dispose the products and to be released from the take back requirement by the customer does not end before the expiration of 2 years after the final end of use of the product. The two-year-term of suspension of the period of expiration starts at the earliest with the receipt of awritten note from the customer to the manufacturer about the end of use of the product.

In addition to that the customer has the possibility to return the product to Herolab GmbH on his own expenses. The customer has to call upon the manufacturer to take care of the duly disposal of the products according to the law.

Since the ElektroG is effective in Germany only, we recommend to our customers to contact the respective national registration office about deadlines and regulations.
