No matter your age or the season, it’s never too late to add healthy habits to your daily routine.

1. Develop an Attitude of Gratitude: research shows that from both a psycho-

logical and physiological point of view, being grateful is good for your health.

2. Commit to Being More Physically Fit: you don’t have to be a world-class

athlete to get up and move more.

3. Resolve to Make Quality Sleep a Priority: plenty of scientific research proves

how fundamental sleep is to our overall health.

4. Plan to Strengthen Social Relationships: studies have shown that people with

satisfying relationships with their family, friends and community are happier,

have fewer health problems and live longer.

Whether it’s the start of a new year, a birthday, spiritual new beginning, or just the

changing seasons, we humans tend to look for opportunities to wipe the proverbial slate

clean and start again. For some, that may mean jump-starting an exercise regimen or

eating well. For others, it may mean a commitment to spending more quality time with

family and friends. Here are seven ways you might choose to live more fully and

healthily all year long.

5. Look for Ways to Brighten Someone Else’s Life: GIVING is one thing that

makes people across the globe consistently feel fulfilled.

6. Make Learning a Life-Long Habit: giving your brain a regular workout

improves memory in adults as we age.

7. Place a Priority on Maintaining Your Health: good health is the foundation

of everything we want to do in life.

for patient use. These electronic tablets will be used by all patients and integrated into the therapeutic

milieu.

In addition to an annual Christmas gift to the patients of MSH, the Pilot Club of Madison, Inc.

contributes twice a year to the Patient Indigent Fund to insure that patients without funds will still

be able to participate in planned therapeutic activities or other interventions. They also sponsor unit

parties twice a year. Last spring, they purchased a new 3-wheel bike for patients!

Madison State Hospital cannot express the depth of our appreciation to the Pilot Club of Madison.

Your unwavering support to our patients and common focus on brain disorders is phenomenal, and

makes a difference in the lives of many, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.

Anyone interested in joining the Pilot Club, please visit their website www.pilotclubofmadison.com

Cerner staff will be here for several hours that day.

The “Favorites Fair” is an event prior to go-live

designed for our staff to access the production

environment with technical support “at the elbow.”

This time is used to identify and individualize

orders, plans, notes, diagnosis, using some

“Day in the Life” hospital staff scenarios with the

added benefit of more hands-on practice in the

production environment. Cerner staff will have

their laptops, and our staff will be able to practice

on those with one-on-one assistance. You will be

notified of the times and location closer to the event.

The “Principle Trainers” for MSH have

returned from Cerner EMR Training.

The Principle Trainers will now begin training

the MSH “Change Agents”. The Change

Agents are the staff in your departments

wearing the orange badge buddies. They will

be assisting you in training and will be your

go-to staff for questions.

You will be notified by your supervisor of

the day, time, and location of your training

in the next few weeks.

TEAMWORK IS WHAT MAKES FOR SUCCESS!!!

Cerner EMR Trainings to begin this week! EMR
