DYNAMIC ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM Madrid is home to 21.1% of all companies created in Spain in 2015. More businesses are established each year in the city of Madrid than in Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and Zaragoza all together.
Largest national concentration of high-growth, high-potential start-ups: 20% of total. Madrid is one of the European cities with the highest number of business accelerator and incubator schemes for entrepreneurs.
Thanks to the innovation-friendly environment of the region, Google has opened an Entrepreneur Campus in Madrid, the 2nd in Europe after the London Campus.

Madrid is one of the largest aeronautical clusters in Europe and the centre of the aerospace sector in Spain (AIRBUS, BOEING, BOMBARDIER and others), comprising 65% of the sector turnover. 18 of the 25 biggest biomedical and pharmaceutical companies in the world are present in Madrid (72%). Madrid is home to 35% of all scientific production in Spain.
The headquarters of all the big telecom companies operating in Spain and nearly 50% of all IT firms are housed in Madrid. Madrid also has powerful clusters in the automotive sector, the publishing industry and in renewable energy, among others.
