I have learned to not use little letters on my front cover and instead use capitals. This is a code and convention of exciting magazines and makes text
stand out and appeal to the reader.
I have learned more about image quality through each stage and how
to set aperture and shutter speed to get the highest quality of image
before Photoshop and then how to Photoshop my images more
effectively to make them even better and appeal more creative
and eye catching to an audience.
I have learned to use a variety of fonts on my front cover to make my magazine more interesting as well as follow certain codes and conventions of existing magazines.
I have learned to make my front cover more basic and make sentence structures on my front cover more simple and declarative to attract my audience by making it more interesting to read for them and then expand in my contents page.
I have learnt how to make my own barcode as well as learning the best placement of this and page numbers.
I have learnt to block information out
making my front cover my creative
and interesting and show the audience interesting articles
persuading them to buy my product.
I have learnt more about the programs used such as InDesign
and Photoshop to get better effects on my images and my magazine
overall.
I have learned to fill the space of my contents page and eliminate white space I done this by having an image dominated theme.
I have learned to experiment with photo shots such as my contents page cover shot from a low angle looking up, it adds creativity to my magazine and makes it different as well as having a more engaging
background.
I have learned to use a variety of images on my contents page to make my contents page more suited to follow the codes and conventions as well as making it more effective, eye catching and creative.
I have learned to proof read and check I am using the correct jargon of the music industry to fit in with my target audience.
I learnt how to represent the genre of my music magazine more through changing the language and the images used to present my magazine better. For example choosing a better model to fit in with my genre.
I learnt to include quotes within my article to make it
more interesting for the reader as well as better
placement for the quotes.
I learnt how to layout my article better, not as many gaps and not to justify my text.
