EXAMPLE: Each of these editions has a circulation that is split into two halves and each is delivered into every other month. For example, Mrs Smith lives in Hedge End South and receives the May issue with 6,999 other residents including Botley. A month later, Mr Brown who lives in Hedge End North receives his copy of Discover Hedge End along with 6,999 residents including West End. Both the May and June issues were printed at the same time mid April but delivered within a month of each other. A total of 14,000 homes receive Discover Hedge End over two month from one print deadline. The front covers and some pages are different while the core of the two issues are the same.

JUST WANT TO ADVERTISE IN ONE MONTH OR ONE AREA REGULARLY?One off adverts, often for events or sales, are possible but in the large advert sizes only. Mid and small size adverts are bookable in one area but on the 6m+ ongoing rate only. Prices are half those quoted overleaf but remember you will reach only half of the edition’s full circulation, every other month.

Due to the printing process of two issues with one print run one months ads are limited to by page position and availability.

Prime position does cost more because they are limited in number but for some advertisers the higher level of response is worth the extra.

If you want to guarantee your advert (any size) is placed in the first section of the magazine (usually page 9-20) you pay 15% surcharge on whatever the discounted rate is. Advertisers on this rate, are upgraded foc if the premium pages are not sold in an issue.

If you book a premium page (except Centre) you can run different artwork in two consecutive issues.

Standard position (rop - run of page) is £229 + vat per month.

PREMIUM PAGES one month onlyIf you are advertising an event, a sale or launch and you prefer to advertise for just one of the two issues ie. just one month of the pair, this is possible, on particular positions, front and back of the issue.

There are 13 local editions of Discover covering a total of 153,000 homes. With the Discover Carousel you can rotate your advert around all the edtions over a period of 12 months and hit each home ONLY ONCE. This option is not for everyone as many advertisers prefer to select a handful of edtions and advertise regularly. But, it suits some such as retailers, restaurants and some home imporvement services. We recommend to book a space as big as you can afford in the Carousel to give maximum impact as you are only reaching the reader once.

The Carousel order is fixed so you get on the next one you can. For example, if you decided to book on 10 April the next month you can catch is May/June.
