The Aim

To identify the training requirements and nursing skills for mobility* for working

nurses.

* The term Mobility here embraces the movement of nurses, patients and workforce colleagues. Travel may be European, international long term or transient, result from incoming migration to a country or outward migration to another, and may include circular or transitional migration between countries.

EU Funding

This project was made possible by:- Leonardo Da Vinci Lifelong Learning Funding

– The application was for the mobility stream and so the emphasis was on travel,

– – The emphasis was on the cross cultural sharing of ideas

– And learning about each others’ health care systems and practices

Appreciate inquiry

Derived from organisational change model,

It is humanistic, valuing peoples views

It focuses on best practice and positive approaches

It affirms good practice

It stimulates the imagination

And asks why not ?

Language

• The project language was English • This made it hard for some – more time had to be

allotted for communication and meetings slowed down

• Differences of use were discovered • Debate around nursing stimulated• A conceptual glossary was developed.
