Mainly Ambulant Disabled Facilities for 50 ANGLERS!
Situated at locations in Norfolk and Suffolk near to their adjoining borders of the Waveney Valley, this Lottery Funded Project updates the facility first established in 2000. Developed with range of grants from 2003 it includes places by the River (pictured here the Falcon Meadow at Bungay), and on Still Waters. Club’s Fisheries feature largely in this plus two co-operative Commercials making special arrangements to entertain suitably. We contrive an endeavour to a “Help for Heroes” aspiration for the brave, who proudly manage to get about without a wheelchair, but also need some consideration in access ability for their bank-side angling. This also affects a wide number of Senior Citizens with debilitating heart conditions, and not quite as able as they could be. The Bungay Cherry Tree AC obtained a Big Lottery Awards for All Grant of £9613 in 2011 to improve their Lay-By Pit and produce this Leaflet. Co-ordinated by Secretary Dave Gladwell, (73, with a Disabled Carer’s Cert. a former Sport England/NFA Angling Coach), he has endeavoured to cater to the best of the Club’s ability.
The Bungay Cherry Tree AC offer a special Help for Heroes qualifier’s membership rate of £5 and a reduced subscription rate for Registered Disabled persons.

The entries in RED are all wheel-chair capable and can be driven right up to. But please bear in mind the Scheme is designed with the Ambulant Angler principally in mind. For example at the Earsham Lay-by Pit some could take a wheelchair but are not designed for such although some swims are just two paces and others five from car access. In Blue they are wheelchair designed but at Falcon Meadow have a level path with a 60 – 100 yard run in the wheelchair journey involved from the Car Parking.

Club’s mainly silver fish Earsham Lay-By Pit gained £1000 from the Environment Agency to Otter Fence round and with
support from the Local South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon, became a welcome platform to launch our Club water into the Premier status anglers seek. Partial disabled can drive to within three steps to fish through the double gate. Car Parking is good for everyone and the banks are sympathetically graded on strong
platforms and the water well stocked in 2011. Here is quiet peg 25 near the gate. Safe fishing for Juniors in the private
enclosed environment behind locked gates.
BROOME PITS HAS 4 LAKES in a 70-acre public site and this is ideal for those looking for starting challenging gradients.
