LONDONERS SUPPORT LAV III MONUMENT
April 30, (Ottawa, ON) – A new Mainstreet/Postmedia poll finds that 67% of Londoners support the ushe LAV III made in London to be used as a monument to the Afghanistan War. The Mainstreet/Postm
Poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.45%, 19 times out of 20.
It appears that there is tremendous pride in the London built LAV III vehicle used by Canadian troopAfghanistan. Over two thirds of London residents would support it being used as part of a monumenLondon to the Afghanistan war,” said Quito Maggi, President of Mainstreet Research. “These numb
eflect significant support with only 19% of residents opposed to its use and another 14% not sure.”
It's pretty clear that London residents want something done with the Springbank Dam, 59% said to eifix it or turn it in to a footbridge, with the largest support for it being converted to a footbridge (41%)
he rest wanting it fixed. Just 7% said to decommission the Dam while 34% weren't sure what to do witAs costs and other details of the options for the Dam become known, it's likely these numbers cochange and a larger percentage of the population would have an opinion.”
The priority for London residents appears to be downtown revitalization with 21% support, followedRiverfront renewal at 13%, rapid transit at 11% and regional transit at 9%. This bears further study as ndicated "something else" not listed in the survey, including over 25% of seniors over 65, and almost
0 London residents weren't sure (29%).”
London City council has a near majority indicating support for the job it is doing with 49% approalthough that includes just 12% who strongly approve of their performance. This compares to 19% w
trongly disapprove among the 40% who disapprove. This usually points to some polarizing issuegroups who feel they are not being represented. Highest strong disapproval was among those 35-49 yeof age (23%), followed closely by seniors (22%) and males (21%).”
With a council just in to year two of a four year mandate, there is certainly plenty of time to address mediocre approval rating ahead of the next election,” finished Maggi.

“I recommend "Raiders of the Lost Campaign Arc," released Oct. 18, because it’s an interviewwith a pollster that everyone who follows politics should hear. Quito Maggi, of Mainstreet Pub
Research, was the only pollster I saw call the Liberal majority with such confidence, a weekbefore we voted.
Maggi also has the distinction of being the guy who predicted the BC Liberals would win in 20in defiance of the majority of the polls.
His technique involves picking a true bellwether riding and polling it thoroughly. His explanatiofor how he does it is well worth a listen and should be required research for anyone running
political campaign.” - Shannon Rupp, The Tyee, November 4th, 2015
