• In this unit we will learn that maintaining a healthy lifestyle can effect you in many positive ways.
• This includes your diet and amount of physical activity you do on a daily basis.
Why is it important to maintain a healthy
lifestyle?
Roles• Teacher- my role in this class is to teach you the principles of
staying healthy and to inform you of all of the benefits that come along with it.
• Student- your role will be to participate in all of the physical activities in class and improve your time in the mile run by the end of the unit which will be one month.
• Parents- it is every parents role to make sure that their child is as healthy as possible and help teach them that maintaining a healthy lifestyle and diet is essential in living a long healthy life.
Objectives Students will be given several tests to examine physical fitness, such as the mile run and how many push ups you can do in a given time. Your grade will be given based on the improvement in your results and by day to day evaluation of how you participate in class activities.
Benefits
Some of the benefits of staying healthy are• It drastically reduces your chances of heart disease
later in life• Exercise is one of the best stress relievers known to
science• you will be able to complete daily activities with
more ease • The healthier you are the longer you will live and the
happier you will be
