Make Saving
Do you have a savings account, yet find it difficult to save? This is not uncommon – most people find it difficult to save. The problem is that most people save money as an afterthought. When they receive income, the money is usually allocated to bills, groceries, rent/mortgage or daily expenses, and only think of adding money to savings if there’s any left over. Unfortunately, this is backwards thinking because there is almost never any money left over.
Automatic Savings is Easy With Payroll Deduction or Direct Deposit. With today’s modern technology, it is very easy to set up an automatic savings plan. If you currently have direct deposit through your employer, you will find the easiest way to start saving is to have your pay directly deposited to your checking account with an allocation to a savings account occurring simultaneously. Even if you don’t have a checking account with the Credit Union, you can still open a savings account and have a set amount of money deducted to this account each pay period. It doesn’t matter if it is $10 or $500, simply having this happen automatically will ensure money is saved every time you’re paid.
If you don’t have direct deposit or payroll deduction through an employer, there’s still a way to have regular, automatic deposits made to a savings account. How? Have the Credit Union set up an automatic transfer between your checking and savings account to coincide with when you deposit your paycheck.
Call us today for more information about setting up an easy savings plan and start paying yourself first.

The Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee has ordered an independent audit of The Southern’s financial statements as part of a routine accounting process. The audit will be conducted by the accounting firm of Cynthia L. Coleman, CPA. Part of the audit includes the verification of select accounts chosen randomly. Therefore, you may receive a letter from Cynthia Coleman on our letterhead requesting that you confirm the account information contained in the letter. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Telephone Service Center at (770) 719-1111 or 1-800-338-5882.

joint owners or beneficiaries?• Do you need to reset your account password
and/or your TellerPhone access code?
If you need to update or change any of the above, please call the Telephone Service Center at (770) 719-1111 or 1-800-338-5882, or speak to a Branch Member Service Representative the next time your in.
For homebuyers, a rare window has opened. Now is definitely the best time to buy a home, as your buying power will never be as strong as it is today. We are currently in a buyer’s market and with today’s historically low rates it is the perfect time to buy your first home or maybe even a second home in your favorite vacation spot. The best real estate bargains always occur in buyers’ markets. Sellers tend to be more flexible and the current market offers an opportunity for homebuyers to have more selection at a lower price at the best interest rates. Simply put, this means that buying your home can be far easier and more affordable.
If you already own a home, you can take advantage of the lower rates on our Home Equity Line of Credit. Take this opportunity to consolidate your high-interest revolving debt, or get cash to use toward your dream vacation, home improvements, college tuition or anything else you can think of.
Browse our website to learn about today’s rates and programs, what you’ll need to apply, how easy it is to pre-qualify, and how we can help find the loan that’s right for you.
