You’ll need metre fabric of your choosing ribbons of your choosing measuring tape sewing pins scissors sewing machine iron 1. Measure the pillow you are sewing the cover for. Cut one piece of fabric, allowing 3 cm extra along each edge for hemming. Cut a second piece of fabric that is 1/3 longer than the first piece. Use a zigzag stitch to sew all of the edges to keep them from fraying. 2. Cut two lengths of ribbon, 40 cm long. Fold in half. 3. Lay one piece of the fabric pattern side up. Place the ribbons on top of the fabric, aligning the folded edge of the ribbon with the top edge of the fabric. 4. Place the second piece of fabric, patterned side down, on top. Fold up the 1/3 excess fabric. Pin all of the pieces together along the two side edges and top edge. Be sure to leave the bottom edge open! 5. Sew the pieces together along the three pinned sides.
