TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS AT MAKERERE UNIVERSITY
At Makerere University, we encourage technological innovation, invention and development.
The KIIRA EV, a car with an electrically powered engine that was manufactured by a group of students from the college of Engineering, Art and Design .
Every year, more than ten thousand students graduate from Makerere University and this being the last semester for the academic year 2013/2014, another bunch of students will be passed out and subsequently on to the job market very soon.
We posed a question to this year’s final year students, “Its believed that by the time a student is in his/her final year at the mighty Makerere University, they must have acquired sufficient skills that can sustain them in the working world, do you feel you have enough skills that can enable you do your job?”

MAKERERE GUILD CAMPAIGNS AND ELECTIONS
As it has been the tradition, that a guild president serves for a period of one year, another guild president had to be elected.
Eight candidate were approved by the University’s Electoral Commission to run/campaign for the University’s top most elective position to represent their fellow gallant intellectuals.
At the end of the day, the students gave their mandate to Ivan Bowe who became the 90th guild president of Makerere Unversity.
