To impact the Las Vegas community by providing on-site access to programs, education, housing and wellness organizations that ensure citizens, young and old, can live productive, healthy and whole lives. CITY IMPACT CENTERS main facility opened its doors in June of 2008 in response to the increasing challenge of creating a safe and positive environment that would foster social interaction and personal development for local children and families. Because many of the children served come from single-parent households, one of the primary functions of City Impact has been to provide a safe alternative place for local children and teens to play, learn, and grow in a healthy and productive manner. THE TRANSFORMATION: City Impact has been transformed into a multi- dimensional community complex that provides desperately needed services to low-income individuals of all ages. These include after-school activities (i.e. prepared meals, homework tutoring & mentoring, physical activities), early childhood development, charter school for grades 6-12, free medical clinic for children and adults, fresh food packages (including fresh vegetables grown on site), behavioral health, low income senior housing, addiction recovery, temporary staffing, Opportunity Village ENABLE, and adult night school classes for High School Equivalency and English Language Arts (day classes also available). Many of these activities and services have resulted from the dire necessities of the community, coupled with a core group of passionate staff and committed community partners working together to make a difference.
