Making my page number

While considering my page numbers which were going to have to be present on my double page article and my contents page, I had to think whether I just wanted there to be a number or whether it would be better suited, enclosed in a shape.

After some thought I thought it would be more attractive to enclose it in a shape, preferably a music note. Luckily I found one available to use of Photoshop, I felt that this crochet would be very effective in relating to the musical target audience easily relating to the world of music.

I was trying to decide upon a colour for the crochet and I was originally wondering whether to use white as it would create a nice monotone contrast, between it and the background.

I eventually decided upon using this shade of purple, as it’s deep and enriched colour can link to Jazz, while the shades of purple are also often associated with Pop.

The next task was to decide upon writing the page number, I wasn’t sure whether to just write the number for example ‘2’ or to actually write ‘page 2’. In the same token I also had to decide upon the colour which would be most effective against this purple. I had decided upon this red, alas, was still unsure.

I came to the decision that just writing the number would be sufficient. Continuing to try and decide upon the colour I wished the number to be.

Then I placed the completed page number on my contents page, eventually deciding that white would best contrast the deep purple colour of the music note.

Similarly I also placed the page number icon upon my double page article to complete it.
