Making of contents page rough draft.

Page 2: Making of contents page

I started making my contents page by using a blank template on quark where I added in 3 columns. Firstly, I changed the background colour by drawing a

picture box over the whole template were I changed the colour to grey.

Page 3: Making of contents page

I then added a picture box at the top of my page which will help my title stand out so I used the colour red because I have also used red

in my front cover.

Page 4: Making of contents page

Then at the side I added a black border which I took inspiration from my magazine contents page. I used black because I thought it

worked well with the red.

Page 5: Making of contents page

At the very top I added the same shape but long ways across the top which again I took from my magazine.

Page 6: Making of contents page

At the top right corner I added the date which reminds the reader when it was created.

Page 7: Making of contents page

Then I added in my title which I made white so it would stand out from the black and the red.

Page 8: Making of contents page

I then created a picture box so I could add in my picture. I decided to put it there so there is enough room for my features and regulars.

Page 9: Making of contents page

I then added a subsidiary image at the bottom of my page which link to my feature and regular content.

Page 10: Making of contents page

I then added another subsidiary image which again link to my feature and regular content.

Page 11: Making of contents page

I added my last subsidiary image which links to my feature and regular content.

Page 12: Making of contents page

I then added in my regular content which I placed in the column with the less space because there was more of feature content. I created the text on word and I saved it as a 97-2003

word document which enabled me to export it onto quark. I then changed the colour of the numbers to red so they stand out a bit more.

Page 13: Making of contents page

I then added my feature content. I used the same process to get it in quark then I changed the numbers to red so they match the regular content. I

used my magazine for inspiration on the colours of my content.

Page 14: Making of contents page

I then added lines which I created straight on quark. I chosen to make them white so they stand out. I chosen to add them in

because I feel like they give it a good professional touch.

This is what my magazine contents page looks like without the guidelines on.

Next I decided to add page numbers on my pictures to tell viewers what page it will be on. I also added the name of the artists to the

picture as well.

Page 17: Making of contents page

Lastly, I added a circle to the bottom of my contents page. I put it in yellow to make it stand out. I thought I'd add this because in my

magazine I bought it included it.

Final changesFrom looking at my magazine, I decided to make a few last changes. I firstly decided to add more information in to my puff which contains information about subscribing. I decided to add more information in because originally it looked very plain therefore I felt like I needed to add more information in so people know how to subscribe. I also decided to make my page numbers on my photos more visible as previously you couldn’t see them very well therefore I decided to change the font and make them bigger and bolder so they’re more visible. Lastly, I also decided to change the font of the text because I felt like the bits that were meant to be in bold, didn’t look like they were in bold therefore by doing this it enables readers to clearly see the artist/bands name so it catches their eyes.
