PROBLEM?

Lesothos human environment is persistently

faced with serious and challenging problems.

Foremost, poverty, hunger, HIVandAIDS are theintertwined concerns affecting many Basothoconcurrently for it is the poor who go hungry and itis hungry that are at higher risk of HIVandAIDS.

The hemisphere is been polluted by the Gasemissions that has led to the rise of many airborne

The cultivation cycle has led to drought andheavy rainfalls that are not conducive forfarming hence rise of hunger, poverty andspread of diseases in many developing

countries. This is how PELUM Lesotho realised the

PELUM Lesotho Association is committed tosensitize, empower by and work in partnership withlocal communities to provide long-term solution byincreasing targeted food production, household

income and capital, self-reliance, willingness toself-help and self-sufficiency.

This is done by mobilizing, organizing, training andintroducing the community into commercial farming

projects that meant to eradicate poverty, hungerand ultimately HIVandAIDS.

The projects lined up are agric based inview of food production human lifesustainability in the process.

These projects are set to pilot startdomestically and later graduate to largescale farming.

and evaluation of the projects.
