• While calculating closing stock, take into account all the non-recurring expenses.

Bill discounting • Goti owed Mayank Rs. 10,000. On 2nd January, 2008

Goti accepted four bills of exchange drawn by Mayank to discharge the debt. The first for As. 1,000 at one month, the second for Rs. 2,000 at two months, the third for Rs. 3,000 at three months and the last one for As. 4,000 at four months. On 15th January Mayank sent the first bill to the hank for collection. On 17th January he endorsed the second bill in favour of Monu.

• On 5th February, he got the fourth bill discounted with the bank @16% p.a. The first three bills were duly honored but the fourth one (i.e. the discounted one) was dishonoured on the due date, noting charges being As. 25.
