INTRODUCTIONMIROS (Malaysia Institute of Road Safety Research) Data ‐
Most of fatal accidents occurred at :
‐ Road Geometry : Straight road, bend area , intersection and others.
‐Road markings : Center line marked, double line, without line and others
‐ Road Surface : Dry, wet, sandy, and others ‐ Road defects : Insufficient delineation, improper road
shoulder, potholes, slippery road, guardrail and others

BACKGROUND OF PWD ROAD SAFETY RELATED ACTIVITIES
Maintaining the Blackspot Database
“at least three (3) numbers of similar type of accident occurred within 3 years or at least five (5) numbers of accident with different types occurred within 50m radius”
169 Locations to this date…

BACKGROUND OF PWD ROAD SAFETY RELATED ACTIVITIES
Maintaining the Crashes Locations Database
• Updating crashes location through official Police Report –POL27.
• Updated by District Police to District PWD
• Will be considered into yearly road safety programs
