Manager Install and Other Notes of InterestFirst you will need either an actual floppy drive or to use a virtual drive making sure it is set to A: or B:. You may get error trying to set it as A: because of bios settings but setting to B: works just fine as well. I prefer using a USB floppy drive myself with real floppy because of ease of deleting the key and remaking it onto same floppy. Anyways, you need to mount the floppy image if using virtual or put key to floppy to start with. If during install its asking for key or if you want to install demo it means it is not seeing the key. Start Install of Manager, it will find key if it is there. Click next and Company Information comes up. Use 1234 as account and Auto Repair as shop name and hit next.

I usually hit custom to verify where it is installing to, defaults to C;\Mitchell1\Manager\Series2 which is where you want it, hit next. It is now installing the Host for manager and will ask for you to remove key, do so and click next. At this point it asks about training video installs. Training videos work in Xp operating system just fine but do not work correctly in other operating systems, so install or not is up to you (either hit install training videos or click next). On next screen you see this

By default the install workstation is not checkmarked. You need to checkmark it so it installs the workstation so the program functions on the machine and click finish. Another install starts for this, click next. Default installation is install workstation which is what you want so click next. Install type option I click custom again to make sure of path which defaults to C:\Mitchell1\Manager\Series2\Program for program and C:\Mitchell1\Manager\Series2\mdb which is where the database will be stored, click next and it will finish the install with asking if you want to run program or not and finish button. I do not run right away and just click finish. At this point the base program of manager is installed. At this point go to the folder MDUDPR13_2 which is the newest manager update cd and run setup.exe in the folder. Click YES to install Update of your Manager Program. Install shield comes up, click next and it will install update then click finish. The next thing that will pop up is the DPR, click CANCEL, it will ask if your sure, click yes, then click finish. You do not want the DPR in your system as it will want to connect to them regularly. At end you are looking at the update box from cd, you are already up to date now so click EXIT listed on bottom right. On startup it will update the database, once you have done that, close it and install the Mitchell On Demand repair and Estimator side of the program using the keygen provided with it.

Install notes:

Always keep a copy of the virtual drive key in a couple places. A copy to a temp folder that you use to mount for install and then delete after is suggested.Errors received during an estimate from the OEM parts and labor are many times caused by the Mitchell On Demand side (like a 1007 error) so if your having problems verify that the repair side is functioning.
