Internship Placement Process

All students required to complete an Internship for credit

• 120 total hours – 15 Weeks (Average 10 hours week)

• Internship must be related to academic major

• Project Based Option with Program Chair Approval

Career Counselors work one-on-one with students

• Search based on location, academic major and career direction

• Some barriers include language skills, financial hardship, lack of transportation

• High volume demands steady supply of internship sites —

Typically 120-150 students assigned per term

Job Placement Process

• All Berkeley Students have assigned Career Counselor (by major)

• Same students worked with for Internship Placement

• Build relationship/trust with student to identify “Hot Buttons”

• Focus on graduates’ needs – Location, Wish List, Top Companies

• Students need to be placed within 180 days from graduation

• Students graduate each quarter

• Collect and verify employment information

• 90% placement goal for each quarter • Decline Process – Heath, Grad School, No Contact, International, Military Service

• Lifetime Career Assistance

• One year or more after graduation – graduate works with

Alumni Career Services Team
