SEPTAGE TREATMENT PLANTAs part of achieving the cent percent sanitation, onsite sanitation facilities is being promoted all over the country for black water (toilet waste) management, septic tank-soak pits and leach pits types of latrines are promoted as part of establishing onsite sanitation facilities. As per the CPHEO norms, once in two years septage (sludge accumulated in septic tank) needs to be cleared from the septic tanks. Septage collected from septic tank through Tanker Lorries are disposing into water bodies, open places, and even in drinking water sources without any treatment. This necessitates the requirement of establishing small, medium and large size septage treatment plants. The Company initiated action for bringing in appropriate techniques for operationally sustainable septage treatment plants.

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENTAll over the country the number of successful operationally sustainable solid waste management systems are very minimal. It is imperative that modern solid waste management system including sanitary landfill facility are required to be established in all urban local bodies. We need modern treatment technologies which are proven successful, especially in Asian countries for adopting the same in Indian condition with suitable modifications. CONSTRUCTION OF MODERN SLAUGHTERHOUSEModern slaughterhouse for making hygienic meat and recovering waste as a resource is the primary requirement of the present time. Scientific slaughtering, recovery of blood, fat, hide, bones etc. as the by-product for industrial use is to be promoted for minimising quantity of waste. For achieving this objective, modern slaughterhouse with waste segregation, recovery and primary processing is required to be promoted.
