Padmanabhan Memorial award to Dr E SridharanTHRISSUR: Chairman and Managing Director of Delhi Metro railway, E Sridharan has been selected for the Manappuram Group of Companies Padmanabhan Memorial award for his outstanding service for social development.

Chairman of the Valapad-based Manappuram Group V P Nandakumar told newsmen here Monday four others also won the awards for their excellence in their

respective fields.

Prof M K Sanoo, renowned writer, social and literary critic and orator Dr V S Vijayan, Chairman, Salim Ali Foundation for his outstanding contributions for ecology and environment conservation and development, Anil Akkara, President, Adat Panchayat, for excellence in good governance and N Ramachandran, Chairman, Cochin Port Trust and a Civil servant with excellence in public administration, he added.

The Manappuram Group of Companies founder V C Padmanabhan commemorative annual lecture on 'Emerging Global Economy and India" would be delivered by Dr Francis Cherunilam on June 29 here.

The awards consisted of Rs 25,000 each and bronze plaques will be given to the winners on the occasion, Nandakumar said.
