Student feedback mechanism on Institutional

Governance/faculty

performance

Compliant/Suggestions:

A compliant book is available in all the class room

blocks, lab blocks, Gents hostel and Ladies hostel. The college

office with the help of incharges receives suggestions and

complaints. It is attended immediately and the report is submitted

in the board meeting.

Class Monitoring Committee:

The committee consisting of the Director and two senior

professors, Class counselors and students representatives is

constituted. The committee meets every month and discusses on

the various issues pertaining to academics, co curricular,

extracurricular and other issues. The discussions are recorded and

actions if any are initiated by the director.

Performance Appraisal Systems :

The performance of every faculty is appraised by the

students, once in each semester. The self appraisal , peer appraisal

is also done to improve the performance of the staff Refer

18 Counselling / Mentoring The students are attached to faculty mentors . A meeting is

conducted on first Monday of every Month. The students

problems and weakness are identified and they are counselled and

advised.

Career Counselling

Students are given an intensive in house training by the placement

and training cell for a period of 7 days during the prefinal

semester. Professional trainers and counsellors are arranged for

this. The students are also given training on aptitude skills, soft

skills etc by our faculty from the first semester onwards. A two

hours aptitude test is conducted every week for the students in the

first semester and a two hour soft skill session during the second

semester. Students with poor communication skills are identified

and training on communication is also given to them.

Medical facilities

Dr.K Santhanam, and staff Nurse Ms Kanikai Mary attend to the

needs of the students and the staff. Special emergency cases are

taken to the nearest hospitals.

Cultural activities

In house competitions are conducted every year for painting,

drawing, collage, light music, carnatic music, instrumental music,

etc. Students also participate in various such competitions

conducted by other institutions

Sports activities

Facilities for all indoor games, floodlight courts for outdoor

games and track and field events are available in the campus. Our

college conducts and in house sports meet “JETS” (Jeppiaar

Educational Trust Sports) every year. It also participated in the

TIES and bagged the overall championship in both the events for

the last seven consecutive years.

Literary activities

English club actively participates in debate quiz essay writing and

other oratorical competitions conducted both in house and by

other colleges.

Magazine / Newsletter The institution comes out with an annual magazine “INSIGHT”

Technical activities /

TechFest

A National Level Management symposium “FENESTRA” is organized every year by the students of the institution. An intra departmental management fest is also organized. Competitions like technical paper presentation, adzap, best manager, stock wars are conducted in these symposium.
