North Banbury Children’s Centre:what parents say

Heather, Mum of three“When I needed help with my youngest the Children’s Centre gave me the help I needed and the confidence to change things in my life. Now my youngest is at School and with the help of a team of staff at The Cabin I am now working on my level 3 Diploma in Childcare and have received lots of advice and encouragement to pursue something that I’ve always wanted to do .To be given this opportunity is an extremely rewarding experience.”

Karen, Mum of four“I have been going to North Banbury Children’s Centre for over 12 years, first as a parent, then a volunteer and now as a session worker. At one stage I had four children under 5 so going to a place where I knew someone would be there to listen or hold a screaming baby while I deal with a two year old having a tantrum over what colour socks I had put on them this morning was a blessing. Even at 12 years old my eldest still if she can go to “chuff” as it was then, to play! I have made lots of friends and learnt so much from staff and other parents about bringing up children.”

Paul, Dad of two children“I used the Dad’s group on Saturdays, it was great to get a break from the house and do something with the children which we all enjoyed.”

Louise, Mum of one, baby on the way!“We started using the Centre when my son was a couple of months old. I wanted to meet other Mum’s in our area. Since that day it has become more like family and part of daily life. I believe that the Centre has helped my son become the social, intelligent little boy he is today. He loves coming to all the different sessions which help him grow and develop in an all round way. We have both made lots of friends for life because of the Centre.”

Karen, Mum of two“The Cabin and staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful – They have been an incredible support in a range of ways, ever since we started coming when Charleigh Grace was just a few weeks old, from courses to hands on help, especially when Konnor was born! We enjoy many groups, especially the outdoor learning and singing – our second home!”

Laura, Mum of twoThe North Banbury Children’s Centre is like a family to us. We use many of the groups and have participated in various courses that they have provided, including cookery and parenting skills. As a family we enjoy fabulous trips out and about and from all of this have made some great friends. Megan is a confident, sociable and happy child and Joshua is quickly learning from her and from the continuous help and support the Centre and brilliant staff provide.”

Tammy, Mum of three“The Centre outreach worker has been fantastic, I wouldn’t be where I am today without her support. She has been a great support for me and my three children.”
