Introduction

• As we know thatSwine flu is an infection caused by a virus.

• Swine influenza (also called swine flu, hog flu, and pig flu) is an infection by any one of several types of swine influenza virus.

• It has been confirmes in a number of countries and it is spreading from human to human which could lead to what is referred to as a pandemic flu outbreak.

Swine flu influenza

• Swine flu (swine Influenza) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza that regularly cause outbreaks of influenza among pigs.

• Swine flu virus do not normally infect humans, however, human infections with swine do occur, and cases of human-to-human spread of swine flu viruses has been documented…..

History

• During the mid-20th century, identification of influenza subtypes became possible, allowing accurate diagnosis of transmission to humans. Since then, only 50 such transmissions have been confirmed.

• Since March 2009, a number of confirmed human cases of a new strain of confirmed human cases of swine influenza A (H1N1) virus infection in the U.S. and internationally have been identified. An investigation into these cases is ongoing….

Swine flu 2009• In late march and early aprail 2009, cases

of human infection with swine influenza A (H1N1) viruses were first reported in southern California and near San Antonio, Texas.

• Other U.S. states have reported cases of swine flu have infection in humans and cases have been reported internationally as well..

Swine flu in India

• According to mass media the first cases of swine [h1N1] flu in India was found in Maharashtra and the reality is this that it was carried by the persons staying in the infected countries.

• From then till now, many a peoples were infected by this hazardous disease and just because this virus frequently travels in air and affects through respiratory system, most of all India is now became infected by this virus….

Swine flu and virus

• As we have discussed earlier, Swine influenza is a respiratory disease of pigs and caused by type A influenza virus that regularly causes outbreaks of influenza in pigs.

• Swine flu viruses cause high levels of illness and low death rates in pigs. Swine influenza viruses may circulate among swine through out the year, but most outbreaks occur during the late fall and winter month similar to out breaks in human. The classical swine flu virus (H1N1) was first isolated from pig in 1930.

Cause by Reassortment of different strain

• Like all influenza viruses, swine flu virus change constantly . Pigs can be infected by Avian influenza and Human Influenza viruses as well as swine influenza viruses. When influenza viruses from different species infect pigs the virus can reassort (i.e. swap genes) and new viruses that are a mix of swine, human and/or avian influenza viruses can emerge…

• Thus this might going to the tragedy as a new survey told that some of the anti-swine vacancies are just a heap of garbage in front of this virus as it adjust itself accordingly…

Present Swine flu Strains

• At this time , there are four main influenza type. A virus sub types that have been isolated in pigs:

• H1N1, • H1N2,• H3N2, &• H3N1. • However, most of the recently isolated

influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.

How Man Is Exposed & swine flu present in human

• Basically, these cases occur when a person who came in direct exposure with pigs for too long.

• And generally, as it is considered as the breating disease, hence The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, sneezing, coughing, vomiting & diarrhea….

• Influenza viruses can be directly trasmitted from pigs to people from people to pigs.

• Human-to –human transmission of swine flu can also occur..
